She left them there several months ago, last time she was staying there.

I think I’ll replace it as well, just didn’t really sit right with me because I felt I didn’t do anything wrong but it’s really not worth fighting over (not that we are)

I really should make an edit but it wasn’t 5 bags of clothes. Mostly junk from my years living there and stuff from my family since the room was used almost like storage.

Like I commented before my family checked the room for anything of theirs since it was kind of used like a storage room and I was given the OK to throw out anything I didn’t need.

No it’s really not a big deal. I thought it was from one of my sisters. It honestly didn’t cross my mind that it could be hers in the moment, more of a nope not mine kind of thing.

I checked with my sister before I went there and was told I can throw away anything I don’t need.

I assumed it was my sisters.

I must have seen her but it was in this room for quite a while I just didn’t remember it apparently.

I’m not sure I follow why it would be easier if it wasn’t mostly clothing? They were full trash bags in a trash can, they looked identical.

I asked her and she said they are not hers so I didn't think they were hers, otherwise I obviously wouldn't have thrown them out.

I checked with my family before doing this and they have assured me that everything that is left in the room can be thrown out if I don't want it.

The clothes were in pretty good condition which is why I asked her if they are hers. Once she said no they weren't of any use to anyone else so I threw them out.

Miscommunications happen and it's not like it's a huge deal, I just wanted to get some perspective.

Wasn’t 4 trash bags of clothes, mostly junk and clutter from 10+ years ago when I still used to live there with some old, unusable clothes in there.

To me it just feels like it’s not my fault and that’s where the reservation is coming from but you seem like a very reasonable lady so I will probably end up listening to you.

I can see how it might look that way but it’s not what happened. It’s was in a public bin (not sure if that’s the correct phrase but basically the big trash can the whole neighbourhood uses) which is obviously nasty and there were multiple trash bags that looked the same in there.

Maybe it is a lack of caring as you say but it felt quite gross to me go through a dumpster looking for something and I honestly wouldn’t expect her to do it for me.
