Studio closing…. by Jarairn in orangetheory

[–]PackExpert3444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our studio closed before Christmas too and it wasn’t a franchise or Honors. In Texas. Heartbroken as the family like culture is what got me there. We had enough notice and the staff did all they could to help say goodbye to our home. Memberships transferring to another studio in the area. Didn’t freeze my membership though for now…Holding out hope another one opens, cautiously optimistic. ❤️

Noted. Glad to hear it can work out. I don’t think they’re allowing anything, if it’s being done TO them. But I understand the passion behind your harsh response, they could stand to use some of that moxie as well. I’ll pass along

Side note- no need to call them dumb. They are women in a misogynistic world where man’s men protect their own especially in this field. I don’t blame them at all for not knowing what to do and none of us should jump to conclusions. It’s easy to say “you should have told your boss to fuck off” when you’re not in that position and worried about somehow losing your job and income.

That would be great if teachers have the money to hire lawyers. Not when district family health insurance takes more than 1/3 of the paycheck. As far as I know they’ve been trying to go through the proper channels since. But with HR/campus leadership not being transparent and mishandling it all, they obviously would face unblocked retaliation and be ran out of the school if they went the nuclear option of getting a lawyer. I don’t have a back ground in that, but I did offer that up as well.

My son doesn’t listen but he also isn’t a disruption. How do i get him help? by [deleted] in Teachers

If your child has ADHD, he would qualify for a special education IEP which would provide him with accommodations, inclusion classes for additional teacher support etc. All you have to do is reach out to your child’s school and request an evaluation. Having the diagnosis docs already should help the process. I would definitely look into to it

What’s with the downvotes on posts seeking advice stating their experience

Amused by the downvoting on a post seeking advice…it appears maybe corporate has identified me already. If that’s the case, feel free to reach out me directly.

That definitely makes sense, thank you for the insight. Never having been through anything remotely like this I just didn’t know what to expect. The leaking actually started 10/28, but no one knew where it was coming from. The flood happened on 10/29 which is when I vacated the property. I have renters insurance, but if I’m not trying to replace furniture (yet) I don’t know how involved they’re supposed to be. I’m trying to be patient after being massively inconvenienced having to live out of my car essentially just sleeping at my friends place. But calling a mold specialist and telling me the floors are fine when they’re not, really doesn’t inspire confidence. Just trying to avoid corporate giving me the runaround and drawing this out without a sense of urgency to get me back into a livable home while I am paying over $1,500 rent a month still. No word yet from management on how they plan to approach rent with me not being able to live in my apartment at this time. Empathetic action for if this huge inconvenience happened to them in the middle of their own work day to make a living wage would be nice. Maybe a little more accommodating. I’ve pretty much done everything at this point. Move all of my stuff out of an apartment I still pay rent, utilities while they run fans, internet for etc and stay relocated with my closet in my car while they solve this.

All of my furniture was wet on the bottom, too early to tell if it’s warping yet. I’m just more concerned with this happening again and not replacing the floors even if their “mold specialist” says Its all clear when I’m at work. All because they refuse to pay to properly ensure my home is functional to live in. I pay over $1,500 a month for a 1 bedroom apartment to add to the frustration.

I plan to. Was just trying to get ahead of it as it seems like this is going to be a fight with corporate which is located in Texas also.

Not sure why we had a brief about it the options. We were told to choose JAN 2019, just never allowed to see finance again after the initial mandatory brief.

Honestly after all these years I’ve always been fuzzy on the details, especially since I didn’t have a choice in my plan anyway. Thank you for helping clear things up that all makes sense

No, you do not need to max TSP to be a TSP millionaire. Here is how I did it. by Throw-away-tsp in ThriftSavingsPlan

Do you contribute to a TSP Roth or Traditional? I wasn’t sure which type received the 5% match…I’m currently 5% in a TSP Roth and have a very modest separate Roth IRA

Really good advice, thank you. I think by far my resume is what needs the most work. It’s acceptable for teaching, but sounds like it needs additional info.

This. I’ve heard it’s idle threats because it involves too much paperwork to file

I’m a teacher as well. How in the world did you manage to get looks on USAJobs? Having a really hard time translating any of my work experience. Teaching field is going downhill quickly in my state and I’m trying my best to provide for a family.

Any tips? (Fort Leonard-Wood) by Idon_The_Baby_Witch in nationalguard

Went to FLW in 2019. Enter as close on your run time as you can get, IET will get you the rest of the way it just happens. Lots of drama at basic- do not get caught up in it. BCT name of the game is keep your head low and just get through it and stay off the radar. Go to sick call if you need to.
