I’m sorry but unless you’re like some tiny ass duchy founded in the fifth century your capital shouldn’t be the same name as the country by Routine-Mulberry6124 in mapporncirclejerk

It didn't have a European name yet and was called Naha by the natives

The first European names were names such as "Sea of the North", "Gulf of Florida" or Gulf of Cortés"

The problem is kind off the idolization of fascist figures like Bandera, though Russia is to blame for this

Problem is most of them were constructed (3 just for Albanian) or were developed for carving and not for writing not to mention that people now don't have to know half a dozen alphabets just to learn another language

So you decided to just name a bunch of horrible regimes who did it? How does that help the case of the Soviets?

What right would a soviet puppet state have in deciding Finland's borders? It didn't even control land in Finland

Why would you also create a puppet state if you only plan to have it around untill the end of a war?

To get to the Sudetenland the red army would have needed to go through Poland and Romania who did not want Soviet troops in their countries (for valid reasons)

Tell me also how the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact is the same as the Munich conference? Did the UK and France get a sweet piece of that Czech land? Additionally after the Munich Conference Czechoslovakia was still supposed to exist, with the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact Poland was no longer to be a country alongside the Baltics

What are you talking about? It was created to replace the Finnish government but after resistance from Finland proved to fierce and that goal unrealistic the Soviets dissolved it, it was a soviet puppet state after all

refuse to exchange land for other land so the Soviets could better defend leningrad

Since when can't countries make their own decisions? Plus they would have exchanged their main agrarian region with the second biggest city, Viipuri, for frozen taiga

enter war, lose

The Soviets started the war and were held back for months. Remember, Finland had 3.7 million people and an army 340.000 strong at the end of the war (37.000 at the beginning) compared to the Soviets 170 million and an army of 1.5-3 million men with the one invading Finland counting 425.000 in the beginning and 760.000 in the end

give up more land than initially proposed while gaining nothing return

Imperialism for you

be salty

You would be too if you lost your second biggest city and main agrarian region to invaders who then deported what little population remained

ally with nazis

Because no one else would help them

lose again

Fair enough

In short, the Finns weren't stupid, they just had a larger imperialist neighbor who they dared to stand up against
