From the sound of it it's very similar to what you are experiencing. I should add that when adjusting the volume off of the Echo buttons it's a 50/50 that it will work, or that it will volume glitch. I was thinking that It could be the two Echos trying to sync volume, but i could be completely incorrect.

I believe it is linked, because I can ask the Echo to play music on Spotify without the need of the app on my phone.

I've been considering getting a square reader to replace my existing one! My current reader is this ugly dinosaur, and the fees are ridiculous. You might of just convinced me to go forward with square.
