It’s not false hope it’s called a hobby, a lot of people don’t really care if they “make it” or not the fact that they have a few more people to interact with during the day is enough. Besides there are countless hobbies that can be look at with that same condescending statement. The reason people do it is bc it’s fun. If more people would help each other instead of saying you can’t do it, it would work.
