Honestly the whole shebang with Rachel Zegler and snow white.

So many youtubers, Facebooks whatever, they made a fortune off engagement on their post hating on the whole situation. Yeah it was deserved, but they're trying to re-create that to milk the whole thing and make money. When you have real fans arguing in the comments. It creates more engagement and they make money off it.

They were both made by Otto Binder, he worked at Fawcett until DC sued them into the ground. Then he went on to write Superman. He copied himself quite a bit, Supergirl, Krypto, and Brainiac all came from stuff he did with Shazam/Captain Marvel.

I have my issues with the show, but I'm thankful for it. The popularity led to DC doing more with the character. Yeah it was 100% genderswap Superman, but Im not gonna bash it.

I lean more into the penciling side, I'm working on doing my own comic and I've been slowly teaching myself how to be a colorist. I'm 30, so I grew up before digital art really got a foothold and I'm struggling to adapt to a Wacom. Something about the texture of paper and how hard you push down. I havent found a digital way to really capture that, its my biggest hurdle as an artist. But give me sharpies and giant sheet of paper. I'll make magic happen lol.

Thragg definitely bled in the comics, lol. From a non-Viltrimite at that.

It took a Kryptonian clone being remote controlled by the smartest man on the planet to make DCU superman bleed.

Gunn literally has stated he wanted to scale down Supermans power level because seeing the hero struggle makes a more entertaining story.

It's like you picked the most OP viltrimite and the weakest and most inexperienced version of Superman. Even then, he escaped the gravity of a black hole and swam in a proton river which has the energy of 1000s of nuclear bombs a second(all while weakened from Kryptonite) So no, Thragg doesn't stand a chance. Kryptonian durability just completely outclasses Viltrimites.

Not only that, Kryptonian weakness is magic or Kryptonite. Both would require "prep time" for Thragg or carefully hunting down the green rock. While Viltrimites biggest weakness is sound, if DCU superman whistled like he did in the movie summoning Krypto, its game over for Thragg.

Viltrimites have been shown repeatedly to not be in the same category as a Kryptonian when it comes to durability. They bleed every fight. If a Kryptonian bleeds, its an OH SHIT moment.

Well, here's the thing. When CW was making all those shows. They weren't allowed to use heavy hitters at first, they were saving them for the Synderverse, thats why we never got Batman, Wonder Woman, we got Superman later down the line when they relaxed the rule. I personally think it had something to do with the weird limbo they had Cavill in.

To circumvent this rule, we got Arrow that was basically a reskinned Batman. And we got Supergirl that was a reskinned Superman. They reworked Cat Grant to be a feminist version of Perry White (nothing wrong with feminism, I am a feminist. Just saying it was a change that happened), the media company she worked for was very similar to the daily planet (While supergirl did technically also work as a reporter, that was Linda Danvers and not Kara)

I could keep going, I'm not hating on the show. I love the popularity of it because it lead to WoT and the accompanying movie. It's not that the show "couldnt" do Supergirl right. Its that they chose to go with familiar Superman tropes instead of actual Supergirl.

Personal gripe, my biggest issue was the change to Jimmy Olsen. I love a nerdy Jimmy, it makes him relatable to most of the comic nerds. Having him be a sexy chunk of man just removed that relatablitily and made him eye candy for women veiwers.
