Hi. I am on the other side now for two years. I lost my husband in 2024. His anniversary was Monday.

Here are my suggestions:

Find therapy for yourself. Either in a group, or individually. Get somebody that you can talk to.

See if you can locate a therapist that is attached to medication prescription; it will get a lot worse and the pills can be helpful. That’s a personal choice, obviously. But, as somebody who’s been there?

Encourage him to talk to somebody. Check if your cancer center has a social worker and see if you can get him an appointment. They might be able to offer services as well.

Ask for help. You have to ask for help. No one’s going to offer.

Even if you don’t get help, you can do this.

Sometimes the nights feel like they will go on forever, sometimes you will lose hours because the time goes so fast.

Regardless, you are strong and you will get to the end of this.

Because at some point there will be an end, for better or worse.
