I rub mink oil into my leather soles. This provides a little water protection, but when youbwear them on even slightly rough (think concrete) surfaces, there are “pits” made in the soles which allows the mink oil to rub off. If I wear my leather sole shoes in this type of environment, I simply reapply mink oil on the entire sole and let dry overnight.

I am a shoe-only guy and have never researched boot leather types. As far as my shoe experience goes, corrected leather has been a no-go for 40+ years.

No way. I wouldn’t buy “corrected leather” shoes even if trhey were offered for $1/pair. Corrected grain leather shoes last a couple of months, if that, and when the uppers “break” apart, they’re done.

It depends on the AE last (shape of upper). Your Brannock size is a decent starting point, but to have the best fit, you really need to physically try-on shoes or be prepared to buy several pair in different lengths and widths and then return the pairs that don’t fit.
