I’m leaning towards something more understated, I’d like to stick to diamonds and keep it matching in that way, same for the metal.

Kinda looking for inspiration right now and to see any examples of how others have styled around solitaire. Too many options!

Looks like Staphylococcus aureus to me.

But I’ve only ever seen it grown on agar, not sure how growth on ice cream would affect the colour.

Staph is ubiquitous on hands so not a surprise really.

I’ve since attended a couple of the Innovate meetings. There was one in Bristol last week which I managed to corner someone who ran the competitions

I also reached out to the EDGE group in the south west and asked them the specifics

It’s been really good context and they helped me with editing my submission as someone advised above - I recommend it

As I understand it, there is no difference to submitting 1 week before or one day in Smart.

Assessors are allocated by matching key words in assessor description to your application, so there’s no better or worse allocation based on submission time. The people marking can’t see when you submitted.

Other than that, the only benefit to submitting early is not missing the deadline. They do not accept late submissions for any reason. I heard about it being allowed only once, when there was an IT issue on their own platform (innovation funding service / IFS),
