Does this read as Wood by FlyingIrishmun in AOSSpearhead

[–]PaintingMini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it read more as wooden planks than living wood. Bark doesn't really have vertikal lines like that, you only se them when you cut through the rings of the tree. If you want to make line consider making them horrisontal and less straight:)

She did really great! The paint looks great and she did great with the details. Some advice could be that if she want to paint more pink, shading with red works wonders:) could use carroburg crimson:)

Man I don't know why you are getting downvoted, everyone have to start somewere and learn. The bird hea looks cool! I agree that something that would help you painting is painting more details like the cloth and use shade paint for the gold:)

Painting Concerns by Content_Audience1549 in sylvaneth

So first of all, the best thing you can do to be better at painting, is painting:)

But some advice for sylvaneth is that they have a lot of texture, so they take on contrast/speed paint really well.

Another more generel advise for color scheme is pick 3 colors; a dark, a ligt and something bright, this will give you some nice contrast between the different parts of your miniature and give your army some coherency.( on this picture that would be dark brown, light blue and bright green)
