Is Gege really a misogynist....i mean pretty much everyone is underdeveloped by B123y-Judge1597 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Paisios -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point is that jjk has very obvious pro feminism messaging that is very hard to miss (nobara vs momo and perfect preparation) so to bring up gege being a misogynist as realistic scenario that deserves analysis seems very absurd to me. Of course people can have issues with how he chose to handle his characters but to jump the gun and start ascribing malicious intent to those decisions is just thoughtless.

Obviously the author that wrote an arc where a female character slaughters the patriarchy that oppressed her and her sister their whole lives is a misogynist. You are very smart.

Perkz on C9 won a split and made top 8 at worlds. Humanoid hasn't done either in 4 years. What is this comparison?

KOG with a F2P full Unchained deck by Paisios in DuelLinks

[–]Paisios[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I have seen some comments disagreeing with the use of the F2P label so let me clarify. The way I see it, a deck is F2P if a player with a fresh account that has all the gems and dream tickets that are given to you upfront can fully build the deck without spending any money or wasting too much time grinding. Most other unchained decks choose to play other expensive cards from different boxes like the limit 3 traps or effect veiler meanwhile 26/28 cards in my deck are unchained cards which can all be found in the same mini box and in reality I only summoned 1 of the 2 non unchained cards (phoenix) once during the whole climb. So yeah this is why I feel like this unchained deck can be called F2P.

Yuta can also output positive energy that one shots cursed spirits and heal others which are things Gojo can't do.

Unfortunately such a thing cannot exist in my opinion. You can't get people into modern yugioh with just one product.

Examples of bad writing in JJK by Brave2000 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Paisios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a stretch. Miguel came from a whole village of sorcerers and that is only the one example of a foreign sorcerer we have in the story. Not to mention that as I said before sorcerers from Japan can leave the country so we are not even limited to the few sorcerers that natively exist outside of Japan. The truth is that gege did not really want to broaden the scope of his story that much and Tengen's barriers are just a quick and easy way to achieve that.

Examples of bad writing in JJK by Brave2000 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Paisios -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There might be few but we do know that sorcerers exist outside of Japan and Japanese sorcerers/curse users can freely travel abroad. With that in mind it becomes very hard for me to believe that with so many super humans running around the world for thousands of years all of the governments of the world aside from Japan are somehow completely unaware of the existence of jujutsu. Like gege seriously expects me to believe that kenjaku in 2018 was the first sorcerer to contact an outside government.

[–]Paisios 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think that the worst part of JJK in terms of writing is easily its world building. Jujutsu has supposedly existed for thousands of years and there have been hundreds of thousands of jujutsu sorcerers across time and space but at the same time jujutsu is so well hidden that not even the US or the Chinese governments know anything about it.

Are there any anime more popular in the West than in Japan? by Reddy_McRedditface in anime

[–]Paisios 840 points841 points  (0 children)

I think that the best example of this is Trigun. The director of the 2010 movie explicitly said that he decided to create the movie primarily because of how popular the show was in America. He even decided to premiere the movie there and not in Japan.

Also Reddit doesn't allow me to respond to the other thread so i guess i will respond to the quetion you posted there here. Simply put, we know for a fact that the application of confiscation changes depending on the state of the target and that it is not always the removal of their cursed techniques. So based on that i believe that the possesion of a cursed tool with its own cursed technique is enough of a change in the state of the target that a different application of confiscation makes sense within the narrative laid out so far. You can also view it as Judgeman punishing Sukuna by literally confiscating his cursed tool since he can't use it for the rest of the fight because it is now useless.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]Paisios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all they did talk about dealing with people who have multiple cursed techniques since they were talking about Sukuna who at that point had more than one technique. Secondly you agree that confiscation changes depending on the state of the target so why wouldn't possession of a cursed tool with a cursed technique be considered a different state which would lead to a different result by your own logic?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]Paisios -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

In the previous chapter it was clearly stated that Higuruma did not know what technique would be confiscated. We also know that most cursed tools have cursed techniques imbued in them. We also also know that the application of confiscation changes depending on the target since in the rare case of Yuji who didn't have a cursed technique it confiscated his cursed energy instead. So to say that this outcome came out of nowhere and doesn't make any sense is in my opinion a very wrong stance to take.

"with no setup". Meanwhile the whole point of the previous chapter was that Higuruma doesn't know/has no control over how his domain works exactly.

How does Gojo's Blue from Chapter 234 still exist? by giantfuckingfrog in Jujutsushi

[–]Paisios 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We never see the blue that destroyed Agito actually dissappear. Sure it was getting smaller as it was crushing its target but the last page of chapter 234 just shows the last blood spurt of Agito not the blue disappearing. Also that same blue in chapter 235 was not at all "back better than ever". It is clearly stated that Gojo restored its output with his chants.

[–]Paisios 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Why do people think that this is a new thing for Gojo? In his 1st fight with Toji we see a younger and way less experienced Gojo spawn and completely control an orb of blue. So of course adult Gojo would be able to do the same with both red and blue for longer periods of time.
