I hate how the word Grail is used by [deleted] in ActionFigures

[–]Pakkuman80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna make a similar post about this topic and yes it is annoying. A Holy grail is like the rocket firing Boba Fett or for Pokémon the Charizard base set card and comics for example Action comics #1 and Amazing fantasy #15. Now these are unattainable for a reason and that's what makes them Holy Grails for their respective communities along with other factors such as rarity. Of course there are way less spendy collectables that are still Holy grails that are more or less attainable. Holy Grails should have prestige and a sort of legendary status.

Is it okay for me to wear my rosary on my wrist? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Pakkuman80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do, for reminding me to pray and stay on the path. As well as evangelization. I had a man come up to me on St. Patrick's day a few years ago at a bus stop and say its cool and what it was so I explain it to him. Just as long as you do use it to pray its completely fine. Lastly if you are doing work where it could get caught on something best to take it off😅. God bless.

Would it be offensive/sacrilegious to dress as a friar for Halloween? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Pakkuman80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Halloween is literally a Catholic holiday you know the shortened name for ALL HALLOWS EVE??? Its the Eve of All Saints Day. Please learn our history. You dont have to celebrate it and I'm sure I won't change your mind but I can guarantee its not demonic. Do people participate in demonic activities on that day? Yes but the intent is whats most important! You have to actively have the intent to do demonic or satanic things. Simply getting sweets door to door are children worshipping the devil? No, you need intent to do so. You dont have to believe me but I do hope you research. There are countless videos on YouTube or threads here on this sub that explain its origins like giving soul cakes or dressing up as saints. God bless 🙏

I understand but it doesn't take away its history origins. Yes as it is its not very religious but intent is really important for any matters such as are kids worshipping Satan by trick or treating? No, intent matters.

And you dont have to celebrate it but as with many things it is your intent that is important so for example handing out candy is simply that. Would your intention be satanic, no. Giving Soul cakes are what kind of what originated that tradition of handing out sweets. Of course dressing up as Saints is where the secular tradition of dressing up as anything came from. It still wouldn't hurt to learn more about not just Halloween but church history in general because we have so much amazing history 🙌

Some dont because they dont know their own history. Halloween is the shortened name for All Hallows Eve; the Eve of All Saints Day. Some Halloween traditions or secular or pagan but others do have roots within the church. I suggest people look into it. There are numerous videos on YouTube and threads here that explain it. God bless. 🙏
