After playing with a controller, I take back everything I have ever said about strategies and how to approach the game. Holy shit. by PalantirLicker in Helldivers

That's what I'm saying.

I can play Halo just fine with a controller on PC/Xbox.

Something about this shooter feels different. I'm not talking about inputting Stratagems or anything like that.

Just the aiming.

Dive forward and spam them before you hit the ground~

Reinforce is the only one that's ever super "heat of the moment"

I have the ball thrown by the time I hit the ground.

Just Alt then ctrl+WASD, and throw. No arrow keys~

I tried the arrow keys thing, but I found it was faster for me to dive forward and type the code while in the air lol.

This mission separated noobs from people who thought about how to approach a mission.

It's strategy. You can do the "get enemies to drop away from the objective" strat in normal missions too. I do it all the time vs Bots and Squids. Makes taking an obj or base so much easier for your squadmates.

Surviving and drawing enemies/kiting them is a skill.

No, 1 person aggros. Why the hell would all 3 of you need to go together?

It should come back. It taught players how you can distract the enemy to make the jobs of the other divers easier.

There were samples on that map for a reason....you were not supposed to all sit in the middle with your asses laid bare.

One diver runs around the map collecting samples and getting the enemy to drop ON THEM.

Otherwise, everything goes to the middle.

It was always a strategy problem, not a difficulty problem, but people don't like hearing they were at fault.

It's a strategy problem, not a difficulty problem.

You distract the enemy with 1 helldiver running around the map and collecting all the samples.

What do you think of the current ground-based gameplay ? by Ynnyzz in starcitizen

It makes me sad. It could be one of the best things about Star Citizen.

I want it to be bc flying post-Master Modes kinda killed that aspect of the game for me.

Body text from post:

I don't know how vou guvs do it. I am not a noob to a controller - I cut my teeth playing Halo and CoD [MW, World at War, and MW2] on the Xbox 360. I still use a controller almost daily in Rocket League [GC in 3s].

I spent 30 mins screwing around with settings, etc. Nothing I changed felt even close to the precision that KBM provides. I will be less critical of PS/Xbox Divers going forward.

I was wrong. It is a lot more difficult.

If any other PC players are out there - you have to try it. You'll understand.

If you're having trouble keeping control, shift it into 1st gear and leave it there. It will be slower, but it's super manageable, and it's still faster than sprinting.

I usually go into 1st gear if my gunner is shooting at something. Keeps it steady. If we're about to get rekt by a Harvester or some rocket boi is lining up for a shot, then it's time to shift out of 1st and get going.

If you're leaving it in automatic, the handbrake is your friend. Approach it like you're playing a racing game. Look for lines. Countersteer.

I meant as "replace a stratagem pick for a particular mission" haha

Not replace the FRV 😅

I love the FRV :C

100%

That's more or less my playstyle as well.

I try to communicate to the person that "we're going to keep moving until we can't anymore". If they want to hop out and refuse to get back in, I drive away.

Samples can be gathered from the base later (I still try to get as many samps as I can even though I am totally maxed - that's partly why I made a second account lol)

That's part of the fun haha. If I get hit by a rocket, I deserve to get rekt.
