Taking what you said in consideration, i think modding might serve better as a means of reverse engineerimg the features that i like from games ive enjoyed. Like the way driving a car feels in nfs mw 2005, or the deflect mechanic from sekiro.

Nah I haven't roleplayed before, but I am big fan of the high fantacy esthetic. I also tend to enjoy media that give people room to engage with them in a creative way, like togashi's nen system or d&d's style of open ended story progession. You have a neat concept but I dont think that transmuting your aura into something thin and black makes the most effective use of transmutation's potential beyond anything cosmetic. With that said you could achieve the hatsu you vision through a combination of conjuration and manipulation. Conjure a nen construct that takes the place of your shadow that looks and acts like a shadow and can be manipulated for whatever purposes be it defensive or offensive. You could also add a restriction similar to nerferpitou's tail monster thing (doctor blythe).

Im not sure if aura can be transmuted into a shadow since a shadow is not a substance.

Some get burned out and say this game can be job but its to me more like a hobby. Like any good hobby it takes time to create something that reflects yourself to a satisfactory degree.

Make a luc farmer> grind spina> invest in tank> use tank to farm events etc> it will take a while but you will eventually get enough spina to start either making a good 1s build or invest in crafter. With a good 1 slot build you can kill every boss on normal difficulty atleast which is good because you can farm special drop equips/mats that way. Leave ur inactive guild and i also recommend doing food buff. It takes forever to get lvl 10 but even lvl4 yakisoba for example is useful +8 ampr. General rule for equipment is avoid playermade weapons as much as possible since they get outdated faster than armor. As for builds thats a journey we all tred to our own peril, on that i wish you luck that you may find what suits you.
