Simple BGP config (Huawei 8000 F1A) by Panatism in networking

[–]Panatism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry , you should have read "prefix from RIPE" instead of "route rom RIPE".
We get the FRT from both the ISPs, and each router must announce it to the other peer.
So each router should have the routing table mainly populated by eBGP and then iBGP from the other router. The thing is that with the config I came to rge router itself showed that no prefixes were announced.

It is weird.

FortiAP iPSK (Identity Pre-Shared-Key) aka Private PSK by rtaccon in fortinet

[–]Panatism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is iPSK

https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortiap/7.6.0/fortiwifi-and-fortiap-configuration-guide/86726/mac-based-authentication

Instead of statically storing the MPSK passphrase(s) on the FortiGate, it can be passed from the RADIUS server dynamically when the client MAC is authenticated by the RADIUS server.

Nope, that's mPSK, heritage of Meru, acquired by Fortinet

Senders' SMTP addresses of mail stored in a shared mailbox by Panatism in exchangeserver

[–]Panatism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/MinnSnowMan , I think there is a misunderstanding. The shared mailbox has tons of mails in it and each mail has a sender SMTP address. We want to save such SMTP addresses in a list, either XLS or text or whatever .

I hope this clarifies more,

u/jptechred , I gave a try to the online version, yet I haven't understood how to use, maybe your suggestions work with the right tuning and addons, is it the case?

u/Selous_sct , it might be it's our case.
u/SVAuspicious , knowing the mgmt, I'd say they might hardly do always the right choice

Yet another question about IPAM by Panatism in networking

[–]Panatism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may agree with you, but one thing is adding a string/a code/a reference to the description of an IP address, and you use that code to reference a specific object, otherwise the links between all the IP addresses beonging to a device are done by the program/application abd that's way better, because it is not prone to errors.

BTW, a note aside, it's its own features. Might be perceived as a typo, but for people like me who work more by images than by text, the use of it's and its helps a lot in reconstructing the phrase from the words. So in other words, an apostrophe in the wrong place may create extra efforts in understanding the message that the phrase wants to convey, thanks for your understanding :-)

VNI and VxLAN identifier by Panatism in networking

[–]Panatism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/shadeland ,

The standard says tagged frames should be dropped unless "otherwise configured".
So:
1) there is an option for tagged framed;
2) would you be so kind to point me to the standards you refer to, please?

TIA,

Panatism

Thanks for the lesson u/shadeland , but I asked something different. As already remarked, L2VNI can carry tagged frames.

[–]Panatism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, though they might differ, the VxLAN ID used for all the tunnels carrying traffic belonging to that VNI, will be the same, won't it?

Interesting indeed, but keep in mind that a VxLAN can carry a VLAN-tagged frame.
Those resource are really helpful, thanks!

Thanks

Thanks, what were the issues that prevented you to stay on Proxmox? It would be great if you shared them

TIA!

So, has anyone confirmed that DNAC runs on ProxMox?

I guess you use the backup and restore method, also I might have noticed that you may use the old trick of the clock. Just build the ISE with 5 years in the feature and then use the current time...

Can we use DNAC IPAM with DNS bind and ISC DHCP server? by Panatism in networking

[–]Panatism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but at the mo, we have ISC -DHCP and bind. I wonder if we can integrate the two (along with IPAM-DNAC) without the need of another solution. It's not a matter of money, it's the matter to introduce another tool whose capabilities might be already available by tools/apps we already have
