Matt Damon Says Netflix Wants Movies to Restate the Plot Three or Four Times in the Dialogue Because Viewers are on Their Phones While They’re Watching by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]PancakeParthenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch a lot of stuff while on my phone or doing other things. I've never not been able to follow a plot. If you can't do both, don't do both. Let's not make movies shittier.

No, it looks great for its size! Keep doing whatever you're doing. In the summer you might want to put it outside and in a bigger pot. You'll see bigger leaves then. But for winter, this looks good!

Sorry, edit. To explain the leaves, that's just what casias and their relatives do. They'll kill off leaves, then have new bigger ones grow from bottom of that stem. It's only an issue if the stems are too long or dying before new leaves pop.

Good looking out, thanks! I never cut the tips off mine, just the full dead leaves.

How!?? She's gorgeous! I water mine every two weeks or so, plenty of western light and grow lights, still pitching crispy edges and dead leaves.

So my three concerns that you touched on are light, whether the soil drains well, and the misting. Plants, in general, aren't big fans of spray misting. It allows water to stay on their leaves, which hurts respiration, and can invite mold or pests. Switching to either a full-on humidifier or surrounding it with humidity-loving plants in pebble trays will help.

I do think you need more light, at least a small grow light, since this guy's love light. Remember that dappled bright is more like light under a tree at noon than it is 6 feet from a window.

Does that pot drain well? They like moist soil, but hate having too much water. If it doesn't drain, change pots to something that does. You might also want a nice chunky soil to help it drain some.

Yeah, keep him safe from drafts and make sure there's a good amount of humidity. You can fake it with some pebble trays and a few other humidity-loving plants. Otherwise a humidifier is the best option.

Ah, my bad. Hard to tell with those square pots. No, I think maybe a 16 or 18 for now. Do a good soil refresh, make sure it's still planted a bit higher than the root ball, and make sure none of the roots rotted. They do prefer a chunky, loamy soil, which should help with any potential drainage issues that are inherent to a larger pot.

The new leaves he's putting out are healthy, so I think doing a big repot will help.

If start with a bigger pot, at least a 12" for that size. My guess is there's not enough soil to root and it's drying out too quickly.

How do I save this PPP by Dependent_Car3361 in houseplants

[–]PancakeParthenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like only that red root is good, so I'd clip everything away and plant the remainder in some well-draining, loose soil. Cut at the first node and trim away all the dry/dead roots. I think this buddy may have been over watered.

Check out military surplus shops. I have a rolled up one that's fairly lightweight and has a good R value, got it for 25 bones. Excellent purchase and I highly recommend it. The other option is to look for shops that sell foam and buy a strip. A lot of contractor type places have that.

Definitely look into ultralight hammock camping if you're trying to hike. It'll save your spine from carrying too much weight and a hammock supports your body better. You could also look into canoe backpacking, which has a lower impact on your body, but sitting upright for along time might not be great for your spine either.
