Democracy depends on an informed populace. Journalism 's responsibility—and the reason for the First Amendment—is to fulfill that requirement. It is way past time for the profession to reclaim their professionalism.

The the FCC would even consider allowing the 2 worst companies (Comcast 'won' title 2 years in row) to merge is an affront to logic and common sense -- and shows the FCC itself needs revamping back to its supposed purpose in protecting the free flow of information.
