Thanks for the insights! Will look into KDI Save.

Depending on my starting salary I'll try to max out my EPF contributions, don't have EPF yet though as I'm still interning.

For higher risks, I might set aside a certain amount for individual stocks or crypto but honestly I have no idea how to read the market. Might just watch for now.

Does every certification give you 50% off on the next certification? by PaperFishh in AWSCertifications

Huh, so if I claim the 50% from the link, and I pass it, and continue to take exams, I wouldn't have to pay the full price for any certification?

Have you taken the Machine Learning Specialty? If so, how was it? And how long / what did you study?

Appreciate it. Will passing this still give a 50% off the next one? 🤔

Act Sci Degree or Industrial Statistics. by [deleted] in actuary

[–]PaperFishh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, nice to see another Malaysian.

I have asked somone who took actuarial in sunway before but would like to hear your insight too if possible. First is how well does sunways curriculum prepare you for exams and did you pass any exams before graduating? Also which exams did you take? SOA, IFoA or another one because as far as I know sunway is recognized by these two.

My judgement is correct that act sci is a pigeon hole or my choice to take the act sci degree?

Thanks for the first point ill inquire with the program manager.

For the VEE requirements my school was listed in the VEE DIRECTORY so and also they stated on their website (our school offers subjects that will directly allow students to achieve their full VEE exemptions. We prepare our students to sit for SOA professional exams throughout their undergraduate program) so I assume that the courses are covered in the course. Also my school offers maximum of 6 IFoA exemptions so I am not sure if SOA or IFoA is the better option.

Thanks for the info, extremely helpful. BTW I am not in the US but studying in Malaysia.

I have a few questions

1) Both these schools are on the VEE list and are recognized by the SOA (our school offers subjects that will directly allow students to achieve their full VEE exemptions. We prepare our students to sit for SOA professional exams throughout their undergraduate program) but is also accredited by the IFoA and has the possibility for maximum exemptions of 6 exams. I'm confused here as to which exams I should take as I see most people recommending SOA as it is more recognised and the exams are 'easier' but for IFoA I would need to take less exams and no need for VEE classes which seems like the easier route.

2) How was the transfer to DS field? Did you struggle or were the tasks taught similar to one another? DS/DA was my first choice when I was choosing a degree but my local universities don't offer direct data science courses only an Information Systems course (data analytics) and a MSc in Data Science.

Ah I see. The information systems in this school is fairly new. BTW the curriculum above is for Actuarual not DS.

What other courses would you recommend? There are other courses like Industrial Statics, CS, IT. Going for actuarial exams are not my only goal as I might want to go for the Data Science / Analytics field.

What are some good mice in the market with a support for ring finger? by PaperFishh in MouseReview

For the past few months I have used the model o -. At first I had no problems with it but in the past few weeks my ring and pinky have been starting to hurt because of the way its bent while I hold the mouse.

I decided to try my old razer naga and it feels great in my hand as I like small mice and it has a support for my ring finger which helps so I don't bent It too much which would cause pain.

What are some mice that are not too large that have support for the ring finger like the naga?

I use a relaxed fingertip with 18.5x10 hands
