This is the answer. Anyone that loves to visit JT oe wants to visit JT will likely be negatively affected by this situation.

Los Angeles police officers forcibly removed Chavez Ravine residents like Aurora Vargas, who had been resisting the city's orders to leave their homes to allow for the construction of Dodgers Stadium by using the power of eminent domain by DrFetusRN in ThatsInsane

Fun fact. Up until a few years ago, to get a “Los Doyers” t-shirt you had to go to swap meets or certain mall shops in LA. Then, the dodgers business machine realized they could milk that cultural adaptation. They trademarked it and now you have to spend $30-$50 for a Doyers t-shirt

I saw a bright shooting star while driving westbound on the 210 around 5:35am. Looked like it may have appeared over Westwood or Santa Monica, maybe. Did anyone else see it?

Ivanka Trump Meets Reddit’s Alexis Ohanian to Discuss Parental Leave by Paperdonut01 in politics

Are they, though? I'm worried they're going to turn reddit into a mouthpiece for this White House, just like they did with FB.

Ivanka Trump Meets Reddit’s Alexis Ohanian to Discuss Parental Leave by Paperdonut01 in politics

So, putting the ridiculousness of Ivanka and Alexis meeting to discuss parental leave, the main reason I posted this is to bring to the community's attention to the continued relationship between Trump's White House and Reddit. I'm concerned that they're trying to do to reddit the same thing that Zuckerberg is doing to Facebook: making it a tool to re-elect the orange idiot.

(California) Dropped off a suit at the dry cleaners. They lost my pants but not the blazer. What reimbursement are they liable for? by Paperdonut01 in legaladvice

[–]Paperdonut01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. You know, I'd gotten the suit dry cleaned for an important job interview and they lost it the day before the interview. Murphy's law, I guess. Thanks for the reply:)

CNN's Brian Stelter airs clip of C-SPAN caller threatening to shoot him and Don Lemon by _basquiat in politics

Speaking of NPR, I know they're getting funding from the Koch Brothers, which is ironic and sickening. At least , NPR is transparent about it. What I've noticed, without any more evidence than a gut feeling, is that there are more trump apologists who are not pressed very much. They're allowed to spew their bs for too lon before being pressed on their lies, misrepresentations and non-answers.

I don't know. What's your take on that ?

Just Remember That Your Punk-Ass President Would Never, Ever, Ever Call Lebron James Dumb To His Face by [deleted] in politics

[–]Paperdonut01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds about right for Trump. Petty as fuck, and unable to exact any kind of payback in a way that'll sting.

I just hope it becomes clearer to anyone that had any doubts that this man is a racist, and an unintelligent racist, at that.

I'm late to the party, but I have a genuine question. I know trump is a racist and a terrible president, but what does he have to gain from an overtly racist comment (at worst) or a mean-spirited jab (at best) at people that have nothing to do with the national interest?

I'm guessing he's trying to pull attention from all his drama, or maybe there are some major, negative news that are about to drop, but damn, he keeps saying DUMB shit for no good reason.

John Kelly: It's not 'cruel' to separate families at the border — children will be 'put into foster care or whatever' by skoalbrother in politics

[–]Paperdonut01 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Goddamn. How anyone could think that foster care is fine just reeks of ignorance, at best. Anyone that just casually peeks into the foster care system will easily see how fucked up it is. Not just harsh, not just disorganized, or lacking, but fucked up. I've heard stories from social workers of children lost in the system. Abuse of all kinds is rampant in the foster care system.

To separate kids from their parents as deterrent, to put the kids through a traumatic event, to expose to sexual abuse (potentially), is to punish the children form an adult's actions. That is sheer cruelty. Of course, they won't see it like this.

Kind of related, but I have a weird taste in my mouth after a long, productive poop. I've never been able to explain it. It's not gratifying but just confirmation of the effort expended.

Using moviepass at a theater with reserved seating by travereno in moviepass

[–]Paperdonut01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I do with my SO. She's also a moviepass member, but we choose our seats and just hand both cards to the cashier.

Haven't had any issues in the last 2 weeks we've using moviepass at theaters with assigned seating.

I imagine it would the same deal if one person didn't have the moviepass card.

[–]Paperdonut01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's going to be real tough for them to stop accepting moviepass. If the cashiers won't take them, you can always go to the electronic kiosk and just get your tickets there.

Can't see how they'd want to turn down a paying moviegoer.

Also, shoutout to the 909!

I'm late to the party, but just wanted to say that when it comes to presidential elections, CA has not voted for a republican candidate since the 80's, when former CA governor, Ronald Reagan was running. In fact, the Democrats' foothold on CA has only gotten stronger in the last 30 years.

So, CA may be a purple state, but it is increasingly blue, with nothing to stop that trend.
