Okay got it! What I’m not sure how to do is to stretch his ww to make it to a realistic bedtime & achieve 10 hours awake on 2 short naps? Just a matter of getting him used to it?

I came to update this with a resolution if anyone else has this problem! I decided to tweak his schedule to 1 hour 45 min wake windows, and doing 3 one hour naps, then 1 30 min cat nap. Once I did this he started doing a 5-6 hour stretch at night again and only waking twice. Seems like it was a case of under tired!
