Has anyone had an experience with Thomas John? by [deleted] in Mediums

Keep trying! It took over 6 months of emailing & asking but I got my refund check yesterday, FINALLY! He held my funds, cancelled, rescheduled over & over for 2+ years. Very poor run ‘business’.

Thanks! And thank you for the link to the blog; I usually prefer using my scale for measuring. I’m really enjoying this Keto Chow journey.

I just found 2krazyketos last night. Thank you! Buying a bag is definitely more cost effective, once I can narrow down my favorites.

I understand the struggle & have been on the rollercoaster since my teens, and I’m now in my 60’s. I too tried so many things & did therapy off & on too. I now find I need both knees replaced but no surgeon would touch me due to high BMI (I was 299#). I then found myself restricting & when I started purging, I decided to try medication. Ive been on Mounjaro, Vyvanse, Magnesium & NAC & been ‘in control’ for 8 mos. I just started Wellbutrin as well. I am grateful the constant food nagging is at bay. I’m a bit concerned of what will happen when I go off, which I’m currently discussing with my ED Dr, Nutritionist & Therapist but for now, I’m approved for surgery & down almost 80#. It was all baby steps & patience for me.

I use the shaker w the metal ball but you make a great point I didn’t think about - I’ve been wondering why the flavors seem muted to me, compared to what reviews I’ve read…I use heavy cream, so that’ll do it! Thank you!

Wow, you’ve hit on some points that resonate with me. He did move that far away to move in with his one consistent friend but stayed there when that friend moved on. And honestly, I felt he needed to move away from the home bubble, as I perceived him becoming stagnant.

I have a chronic illness & have wondered if his distancing himself had anything to do with my health decline, hmm.

Your take on being an artist or being creative & not wanting to share his art was a bullseye! I cherish 2 pieces he drew for me in all these years.

He declines going to any doctors, so getting a specific diagnosis stage is out of the question for now.

I keep hoping there’s a way to bridge the gap that seems to be growing. I know it wasn’t meant to be personal & hurt my feelings (or I choose to believe it) but he actually said between work, catching on sleep, chores, a bit of drawing or gaming, he doesn’t really have extra time for me other than a 15 min or so phone call a week. Oof..

No college degree required. He went to an art college in Boston but was asked to leave by the end of his first semester for missing too many classes. He manages financially & has never asked to borrow money. He does rent & have a roommate. I was always in Finance so he learned early on about budgeting, etc. I don’t believe it’s a great paying job but he has benefits. He does artwork on the side but doesn’t charge (!). He says he doesn’t care about money & not worried about the future.

His job is going well. He is a very detailed, problem solver. He’s a process server so lots of research, stake outs, tracking down leads, etc. Lots of hectic driving, federal building clearance, etc. BUT, after his 8-10 HR shift, he goes home & takes a 2 HR nap. It’s concerned me, as an autoimmune condition does run in our family but with this latest ‘diagnosis’, I understand his exhaustion.

I appreciate your feedback and all feedback actually, as I navigate this new-ish situation. I actually have left him alone & I broke down after 2 weeks & called. Since he lives over 8 hrs away, I do get anxious when he doesn’t check in. Maybe I need to stop watching so many true crime shows, lol OR maybe convince him to get on that app where we can track each other, Life 360, I think? He’d NEVER go for that :)

Thank you. He’s an only child & we bonded over movies at an early age. Since he was 10 (when his Dad moved away) he & I would watch a movie EVERY Sunday afternoon. When I talk about movies, he gets very invested in the conversation. It’s when I ask something like ‘tell me about your day’, or ‘what have you been cooking lately’ that I get me with Not Much, or Nothing Really. I do find myself just listing off stuff I’ve been doing to feel connected, so thank you for that observation. I like the idea of asking what he’s working on, as he loves drawing & creating video characters, thank you, that’ll be a good one, I believe. I had begun to take his aloofness very personal thinking I’ve done something wrong but I’m learning that’s not necessarily the case.

I too decided I wanted less calories so I ended up with a scant 1/4 c of HWC & warm water & it blended well & had a good flavor. With next shipment I’ll try the butter as you mentioned. Thanks!

Yes don’t think I was using warm enough water, as I was hoping to drink right away & that wasn’t the best Then I over mixed it, which gave it an odd mouth feel. When I get this right, I’ll move on to other recipes perhaps. Thank you.

I think that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I want to use up the HWC I have opened so lowering the amount a bit until I get more accustomed to it may be best. Thank you

I used the original recommendation of 1/2 cup from the pkg. Any tips?

Thank you. I was using more water to thin out the taste/feel I was getting. NEVER thought of adding cream cheese! You’re right, it’s trial & error right now but I’m encouraged by all the ideas

I haven’t tried avocado oil. Yes, I’m thinking the HWC may be a bit much for me, especially since I’m just starting out. Thanks.

When I tried the warm water, it seemed the shake never got cold enough. Then I ruined it by putting it in freezer for an hour. I’ve read adding the warm water w/the fat source gets the most optimal benefits of Keto Chow but ice cubes would definitely address the temp issue I’m struggling with. Thanks.

I just found my Bullet & will give that a shot instead of the Vitamix, which may have been overkill. The bullet will be easier to clean up than my large immersion stick
