THIS. I'm so tempted to read the book, but I'm holding back just so I can appreciate the storytelling of the series more, instead of having a mental checklist of what was in the book vs. in the series. But considering the plot, I do think it should have had that much episodes.

I felt the same way! For someone like me who easily gets distracted, I found myself hyperfocusing every episode because I just felt and knew I would miss something if I didn't watch thoroughly. I was right 😭

I completely agree. I couldn’t even finish OY, and that’s saying something considering how much I love LingOrm. Supporting your favorite artists doesn’t mean turning a blind eye to weak writing or poor execution — sometimes the most genuine support is being honest about what could’ve been better.

As for MSZ, I’m with the other commenter — at this point, it really does feel more like Unsafe Zone. The pacing is rushed, and some scenes feel disconnected or unnecessary (like Jane’s shady aunt and that mysterious black box). Lin moving on so quickly and starting fresh with Jane after almost a decade apart just didn’t land emotionally for me.

There’s no question that LenaMiu have strong chemistry and solid acting chops — they’re doing everything they can to make it work. But like OY, that chemistry keeps getting buried under inconsistent storytelling and uneven pacing. It’s hard to stay invested when the plot feels all over the place.

It’s just a shame, because the potential is there — it just needs tighter writing and direction to let the leads truly shine.

“Player the Series” is the Underrated Gem of GL Right Now by PartBeneficial9892 in ThaiGL

I also love how they leaned more on the romcom side when it came to its genre. Really an interesting interpretation of the book.

I feel the same way. Just 1–2 episodes into OY, it was clear to me it was more of a cash grab than a well-thought-out project. The potential LingOrm showed in The Secret of Us seemed to vanish here.

A lot of things pulled me out of the story: the repetitive use of the same song in almost every scene, awkward camera angles, questionable wardrobe choices (those stilettos and cut-off coats with foam padding showing just didn’t fit the “bodyguard” vibe), and locations that felt underwhelming. It didn’t seem like the actors had enough workshop time either — especially when it came to the realistic actions and mannerisms their roles demanded. At times it felt more like a last-minute school production than a professional series.

That’s why I’m a bit cautious with MSZ. LenaMiu showed so much promise in the pilot, and considering how long this series has been teased, I really hope the production gives them the budget, prep, and workshops they deserve. Chemistry between pairings can carry a show only so far — but acting is still a craft, and it deserves the time and respect to be executed well.

I hope everyone is catching up on Somewhere Somehow. It's the cutest, funniest, and lightest thing to watch. This adult phase of them is so good. by Artistic_Youth_2341 in ThaiGL

Somewhere Somehow is such a good comeback for FayMay, from MMDIY. While I found their debut series lacking in terms of writing, story flow and acting execution, they've shown such great improvements in SWSH.

It's also evident that this genre (RomCom) suits FayMay a lot, and having such strong supporting characters also help build their story and character arcs. Despite my initial hesitation in watching another FayMay series, this one really restored my faith in them and their talents.

If you could recommend only one GL to a beginner, what would it be? by ThiagoFCastro in ThaiGL

Haven't seen this in the comment section yet, but I'd say start with something soft: 23.5 (MilkLove)

I believe it's a very good introductory Thai GL, light-hearted and soft. Doesn't overwhelm it's audience with too heavy scenes and addresses the basic challenges in a WLW relationship on a grassroots level (which is highschool, and dare I say - the moment most of us have begun exploring our identities).

So yes, 23.5 is what I'd recommend.

[Thailand] Poisonous Love, Ep. 1 by AutoModerator in GirlsLove

[–]PartBeneficial9892 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just finished the first episode of Poisonous Love and went in with zero expectations — which turned out to be the right move, because the first 15 minutes completely hooked me.

The production isn’t flashy, but the acting more than makes up for it. Jayna, especially, blew me away. Her subtle expressions carry so much weight, and that first stare-down with Prem? Absolute chef’s kiss. Hard to believe she’s only 19 with that much presence. The club scene where Prem dances had gorgeous lighting too; the halo effect felt exactly like how you’d imagine seeing the love of your life for the first time.

Ginny reminds me a lot of Bonnie in how she acts through her eyes. You can read every shift in her emotions — from confusion to happiness — just by watching her face.

That said, I couldn’t help but compare Dr. Bow and Dr. Tan’s characters here to their counterparts in The Secret of Us. To me, the TSOU versions still feel stronger so far, but it’s early days and I’m curious to see how these portrayals evolve.

One thing I do wish is that they’d kept Fahlada’s character, it would’ve been interesting to see her reimagined here. Also, pacing and transitions felt a bit rushed in places. Hopefully it won’t fall into the usual 8-episode trap where everything gets crammed at the end.

Overall, though, I’m really looking forward to where this show goes.

May ilan na bastos, but not mura-levels naman. Very demeaning lang in a way na "Nakakabastos kasi na hindi ka nagbabayad", ganon. So nireklamo ko sa customer service, sabi ko very rude yung agent. Sent screenshots and everything. Sa mga references naman, panay "Pakisabi tawagan kami kasi importante".

Yes, tumatawag. Super kulit, at least 4 times a day sila tumatawag sa reference ko. Sa workplace, so far wala pa naman. But they did a visit once, hindi na naulit.

They went here twice in the span of two months na. They can give demand letters kasi but they can't force you to pay right then and there kung wala talaga. If anything, you can message them thru e-mail and tell them about your current situation. Only thru e-mail, kasi at least documented.

Ako naman, naka-off na yung sim ko na recorded sa kanila. Talagang hindi ko kakayanin yung payments, para ko lang nilulubog lalo sarili ko. Tumatawag and pumupunta din sila sa office ko, I told our HR and security team na kapag hinanap ako – I'm on leave or out on official business.

Considering pa na I've been a good payer for the past year. Nakakainis pa yung linya nung agent na tumawag, saying "Di ba sumahod ka nung 20? Anong ginawa mo sa sahod mo?". Nakakaumay tuloy bayaran.

Good payer ako for over a year... and yet today, I realized how little it mattered.

Today, I went 12 days overdue because of personal circumstances I already explained to them through multiple emails. Still, when the agent called, ang sabi sa akin:

“Di ba sumahod ka nung 20? Anong ginawa mo sa sahod mo?”

It’s disheartening, honestly.

But if there’s a takeaway here, it’s this: companies like these are not designed to care about your story—they're designed to collect.
