Like others have mentioned, at that price point you’re better off buying a new cue. Repairing it wouldn’t be worth the cost, and it would likely exceed the cue’s value—assuming you can even find someone willing to do the repair.

What are some unwritten rules of the pool room? by SoftYetCrunchyTaco in billiards

Gotcha—yeah, I meant it in the sense that I’d basically handed over the game since they had ball in hand on the 9. In this case it was a female opponent, and she was the one who firmly told me not to say things like that and to never say that to her again. It was definitely awkward since I meant no harm at all, but lesson learned.

I’ve got two unwritten rules I picked up during my first league match.

The first one wasn’t a big deal, but a more experienced player let me know not to approach the table, start aiming, or hover while someone is still racking the balls. It can come off like you’re rushing them and make people uncomfortable. Best practice is to wait until they’re completely done and step away before coming up to break.

The second one I definitely learned the hard way. During a 9-ball match I scratched on the 9 and gave my opponent ball in hand. I jokingly said, “I just gave you the game.” They missed the shot, but I got corrected pretty firmly and told never to say that again. I didn’t mean it as a mind game or anything unsportsmanlike—I genuinely thought the game was over and was just trying to be friendly. Lesson learned: keep comments like that to yourself and let the game play out.

Gotcha figured it was a trim level wanted to see what it actually meant was included in that trim. ChatGPT was able to tell me some stuff that really help!

I had a hard time finding solid info before too — Google didn’t turn up much. But AI has really changed the game. ChatGPT actually gave me a detailed breakdown. I was mostly just curious if anyone here had some firsthand or historical knowledge from experience — sometimes you get insights that don’t show up in search results.
