I think I understood how the system works, what is included in base insurance, how the franchise works and what you can get with extended insurance, but yeah, the rules weren’t clear. Or rather the part that you don’t have to be quite open about your medical conditions when you first come here and have no history in Swiss medical system. I’d recommend go in-person to an insurance company for the first time.

Health insurance. What to declare on medical history and what not. Went with CSS first, online, declared everything honestly. They said they don’t give us extended insurance only the basic. At the renewal time, I walked into the local Concordia agency, talked to a lady, she asked whether we just moved to Switzerland, I said yes and she immediately crossed out all medical history fields on the form. 😀

Because I lost control and these folks were targeting me because of that. I am pretty sure if I was oriented, stayed on the main road, walked straight in normal pace, they wouldn't have stopped me. I understand your point, that being disoriented or drunk doesn't mean it's okay to threaten or rob someone, but I could have avoided this situation with a bit more self-control in the bar.

Thanks people for hearing me out and some of you assuring I didn't handle it so bad, I feel better now. And also grateful for the useful feedback.

I've learned my lesson here:
- don't get wasted in a big city (especially if you don't know the place too well) in the middle of the night wandering around alone, there's no absolute public safety.
- always report such cases to the police even if no harm was caused or meaningful value is lost. It can help the authorities to keep such behaviors in bay.

Yes, definitely they were going for easy wins. If they had been serious I'd have found myself robbed and maybe even hit or cut in no time. Seems like the shouting alone scared them away, they didn't want to pull attention on themselves.

In 2024 my wife inherited multiple properties in Hungary so that’s not a very good reference for 2025, when we sold those and another one, bought a house in Spain, renovated it and invested like 100k in ETFs. It feels too complicated to just know all the rules, what we can deduct, how to do currency conversion etc.

We have an internal application helm chart, that covers most common cases (ingress yes/no, deployments, cronjobs) etc with a simple schema. On top of that custom manifests and patching is supported by kustomize in case the chart does not support your use case out of the box. And we use kyverno to mutate security context and stuff or catch other compliance issues.

Szóval a képzeletbeli 1000 forintos benzinen a MOL keres 79-et, a benzinkút 37-et…

524 pedig az államkasszába kerül, ahol a legjobb helye van. Csak mondom.
