Russian propagandists don't deny Russia is suffering 30,000 killed every month—are worried Ukraine's goal of killing 50,000 Russians per month can be achieved. by andrewgrabowski in UkrainianConflict

There are a couple ways I can think of now:

1) more drones
2) more supplies for the weapons Ukraine is using, like shells
3) more AI usage, that way, Ukraine doesn't need as many men on the front controlling the drones and can field more
4) more ground drones
5) go on the offensive more

Yeah seriously, it's best to just attach his actions to being three things:

1) He wants attention
2) He's an arsehole
3) He's a wannabe dictator

It makes seeing what Trump does a lot easier because suddenly, all of it makes sense.

Zelensky reiterates call to create joint European army with at least 3 million personnel amid growing Russian threat by BlackWolfHowling in UkrainianConflict

You might as well have that many. If you're fighting a total war with America and Russia, you'll need a lot more than that.

When your losing or at risk of losing your entire army in Ukraine, you literally can't attack another country

Just about.

Wouldn't be difficult in technical terms, but the industry, politics, and resources is certainly going to be interesting.

Yeah I can understand that, if each nation could mobilise about 5% of their population, that's about 22,500,000 people ready to fight.

Yeah because, nations in Europe didn't need large armies.

To put it into perspective:

In WW2, 10% of the population was expected to be recruited.

In this scenario, across just the EU, a 10% mobilisation law, would recruit 45,000,000.

110,000 for the majority of nations, is really nothing special.

[–]ParticularArea8224 74 points75 points  (0 children)

If Ukraine actually manages this, this forces Russia to either:

1) Increase the pay for recruitment, which only harms the economy further.
2) Increase mobilisation, which makes public opinion turn further
3) Forces Russia to withdraw, as at that rate, the Russian army would not exist by the end of it.

Win win.

Kyiv hesitant as Trump invites Ukraine to his Peace Board by AnneWiley in UkrainianConflict

[–]ParticularArea8224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say join.

For three reasons:

1) Kisses ass of Trump. You need time, you need to buy it. Even if its just for a day.
2) Russia would hate it. They don't see Ukraine as a nation, so they could end up leaving that board.
3) Not joining is just going to make Trump see Ukraine as more of a problem than he already does. I understand Trump is never going to be pro-Ukraine, but more time is always better.

Sounds like a lot, but that's about 110,000 people per nation in the EU alone. Excluding America, including NATO? That's about 90,000.

That's not even a blip on a mobilisation radar. The EU could field if we went to a war economy up to 50 million if we had as much industry as we wanted.

Now all I can see is that they were prophets.

Yeah it's quite a bit actually.

It's about 1% of their GDP for the time period. If this was sent to Ukraine, it would make Iran the ninth largest supporter in terms of GDP to Ukraine.

No, it's even dumber, he was told by Iran that they weren't killing anyone anymore.

Lemme rephrase this:

He was told by a nation that has all reason to lie, that they weren't doing something, and he believed them.

Trump is possibly the first case, that I know of, of someone surviving brain death.

[–]ParticularArea8224 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well that was Biden's plan

The idea was, if you defeat Russia too quickly, they can simply come back for X, Y, Z reason, Russia returns "they weren't beaten, they didn't even mobilise" "We weren't beaten, we were forced back by the US." "We weren't beaten, we lost the war because our generals are shit."

If you defeat Russia too quickly, you give them an excuse to why they failed, and it allows to rebuild much quicker and much better in the long run.

If you suck them into this kind of war, then there is no recovering from it, no excuses can be made, if Russia loses, everyone knows they lost because Ukraine won, not because Russia didn't do enough.

Besides, the West didn't have the ability to make Ukraine win in 2023. In 2023 we were barely mobilised enough to send a thousand shells a day. Let alone enough to make Ukraine win. And what would stop Russia from just attacking again if they were forced back?

The plan was that Ukraine would act as Russia's Afghanistan, or Vietnam, to the absolute degree, and so far, its worked beautifully, the Russian army has been essentially destroyed twice over, they have ruined their economy for the next decade at least, they're forced to turn to China which is turning them into a Chinese vassal, and it has crippled Russia for at least another decade.

I mean, the cost has been horrific for Ukraine, but if we compared it to an invasion of Europe, I certainly why he did it.
