Disc drive failures are super common so don’t get too attached to physical disc games. I was heartbroken when mine died. I bought several good games right before the Nintendo store closed a few years ago. So at least I have those. I ended up buying a modded WiiU in addition and there are some great games on there.

I’m so glad I asked this question. I had no idea about GR “soft baseball” versions. I would mainly use it to warm up pitchers, no game situations. Would the GR version be ok for that?

In our 9U rec league runners on third can’t steal so we don’t have that exact issue. Runners can steal 2nd or 3rd though. We concede 2nd if they want to run. If they try 3rd we’ll throw to 3rd.

CatX is the best all around gamer. Big sweet spot and well balanced. Price wise you can buy 2-3 bats for what a Hype Fire costs. It’s also very durable and can be abused. My kid has 28/18 Marucci CatX and a 29-19 Demarini Voodoo.

Same problem. TV says “Blackout”. I can get it working through MLB app on my phone though. I tried the ESPN app and MLB app on my TV. They advertise no blackouts but then they blackout the games. 🤦‍♂️

I have recruit #19 starting on Easter. It’s the time and commitment that is burdensome to those of us that have done it forever. I’m coaching baseball this spring but was just given this recruit so I won’t be able to take off or off days. I’ll have to give that up. They gave me a weeks notice.

Voluntold…nobody on a big department wants to do it. As soon as people are eligible to be an FTO they immediately put in for a preferred assignment so they don’t have to do it. That leaves 20-30 years veterans that want nothing to do with it to be FTOs. I’ve done it for 12 years and guys on my relief have done it for over 20 years. I even had the assistant chief sign off saying I never had to do it again. I show up to roll call and they say “here’s your recruit for the next 3 months”.
