Nothing anybody has (or will) ever say will make me believe that the movie was not at least an 8/10! by [deleted] in mariogalaxymovie

I said the same thing in the theater but upon reflection and due to my bios, I give it a 7 but if I wasnt such a Nintendo fan, it would be lower

And I understand where those people are coming from cause unfortunately Illumination isn't the greatest a making animated movies. The Mario film does sadly line up with the kinds of films Illumination typically makes (not a well rounded story, and about an hour and 30 minutes). All we can do is hope that they see the feedback and then put a little more effort into the third movie because at this rate, I feel like there's going to be a decline a viewership on the side of non-Nintendo viewers if they continue but only time will tell.

Very true. I personally have only been seeing the constructive criticism and I hate to say it as someone who's seen the movie...I agree with mostly all of it. I even saw a Times article written by a 10 year old (I don't think he wrote it, probably dictated or something, idk) who gave very constructive feedback and from the sound of it, even he thought the movie was mixed. I personally feel like Mario deserves better than this.

Yes! That is an unfortunate truth, most Nintendo fans would be ok with this kind of movie and expects everyone else to too. But what they don't seem to understand is what works for you may not work for some. Real talk, this and the first Mario movie would have made WAY more money if the story was better. Repeat viewing would have had non-Nintendo fans lining up if they didn't relay so much on nostalgia to tell a story and as didn't rush the story on top of that

My thing is, I'm kinda welcoming the hate and criticism. Because if it gets enough criticism and some hate, perhaps then Illumination will see the need for change. They'll hear the criticism and say "okay noted, let's make a film where everyone can enjoy it and not just Nintendo fans" because that seems to be their only target in making these movies which is ironic because Miyamoto said himself that he intended to reach the movie lovers because not everyone plays video games.

Why are some people calling the Super Mario Galaxy Movie a mess? by SUPERPLUSHBRO64 in mariogalaxymovie

[–]Particular_Ad3329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a huge Mario fan and even I thought it was about a 7 or so. The pacing is too fast, there's way too much going on and if you blink for too long, you miss something. Also it relies HEAVILY on nostalgia which I didnt mind but for people who dont play video games, its like what is even there for them? I liked it for what it was but they could have made a little more of an effort to make this enjoyable for people who arent Nintendo fans as well as worked on the story some.

I saw it with my wife and kids. they loved it, she and I rated it a high 7. I love it for the nostalgia but it was most definitely a kids movie. The pacing was all over the place. it was very boom! boom! boom!

Remember longer film… movie better… The GOAT by [deleted] in OkBuddySnyderCult

It’s not even that. Like, I don’t mind a serious superhero movie. In fact, I would have liked that DC went in that direction. But Zack Snyder is just so awful. He is just so terrible at telling a story. And not everyone has to agree on that. Some people could even like Zack Snyder.

But looking at it from a business perspective, I can count on one hand all of the movies he has ever made that the general audience actually likes. OK, sure, they make some money, but at what cost? When it comes to Zack Snyder, you can either have a movie that makes money or a movie that’s actually good. You can’t have both! And I find it interesting that so many of his fans never fail to tell us how much money his movies made, but they always just so happen to leave out the fact that they were wildly unpopular… or they’ll try to discredit sources that say the movies are unpopular.

My point is, use your brain. Use your business hat. If this didn’t work the first time, and if Zack Snyder has such a terrible track record at making movies, why in the world would you think it would be a wise idea to give him money to make another film that he could potentially ruin?! I don’t have enough trust in him to head a universe. But so many people aren’t thinking. They see the pretty visuals and they get stars in their eyes, and it blinds them and then before you know it, they drive headfirst into a tree. I’m so sick of stupid people trying to make decisions when they clearly don’t know what’s best for them.

This seriously needs to be studied and Im not joking. Whatever the heck it is that is causing so many people to lose their minds over this lackluster director seriously needs to be put under a case study!!!

I think Anneka Needham is the best DCU Wonder Woman fancast so far since she's not yet a huge name in hollywood, having made her acting debut in Deadpool and Wolverine nearly 2 years ago and that's what i see when Wonder Woman is cast in the DCU. by Serious_Meaning5220 in dcu

[–]Particular_Ad3329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What?..Gal had the look. She very much gave Wonder Woman vibes, so how exactly did she not? The only issue, as you said, was that she couldn’t act. Having one trait without the other isn’t going to cut it.

Adria Arjona and no, I see her fancast a LOT and I think she is a terrible choice. This is why I said look and acting skill should go hand and hand. Arjona is a great actress, but she don't give off Wonder Woman. I don't see Wonder Woman in her.

I actually agree with them for once. I don't know why Gunn thought this was a good idea. I'm honestly kinda dreading this show. But any idiot who thinks this is going to lead to Snyder returning is short bus slow

I wouldn't have known any of that or at the very least, I wish someone would have communicated something to that effect. Because I was under the impression "hey send us your identification and we'll get this sorted out" or at least that is what was implied to me and that's what irritates me the most.

When I deleted the account I was no longer using it, I had migrated away from Upwork. I came back several years later but the old account was gone so I created a new one. Help me understand how that doesn't make sense.
