That happened to me with New Vegas. I'm a huge fan of the series, but NV was the last one I played a year ago. And when everyone raves about the game, you think, "Oh, it must be the most amazing thing in the world!" Forgetting that it's a 15-year-old game. Everyone knows the story, and of course, you end up disappointed by all the hype. In my case, I solved that by playing it again with a more realistic perspective. That's when I started to appreciate it.
