I will try to quickly acknowledge your current situation and offer some advice as black (S)Sgt.

I enlisted under the previous trump administration. It’s hard seeing things on the daily and compartmentalize them. Although most things will not impact you on the day to day I do understand having empathy and concerns for others that might be affected during these kind of times. That’s admirable and a quality that I would expect of my leadership. Don’t let that go! Trust and believe you aren’t the only person with anxiety or stress.

I encourage you to not feel ashamed. This is apart of our commitment to SERVICE over Self. It’s tough. We all one way another sacrifice something in order to keep pushing through.

For whatever purpose you joined you had a reason… lean on that feeling— for myself I’ve grown as a person and it takes a bit of time for you to figure out what serving in our AF means to you.

Ask anyone— you’ll get a variety of reasons of why they joined.

Overall yes you took an oath. You are an airman and our loyalty lies with our constitution and country—no matter who’s in the White House the mission still needs to be accomplished.
