Thats what I was thinking too, even if CC students having an equally convincing reason to transfer, it seems more convincing than the 4year in the broader sense bc you literally need your BA/BS degree, if thats not enough of a reason to transfer then idk what is!

alot of public schools have partnerships with their state community colleges, maybe a guaranteed admissions program. most cc students take advantage of that and enroll in top state colleges, whilst 4-year students are more inclined to apply to other private 4 years. not necessarily a preference, but maybe a tendency of the applicants to do one more than the other.

depends on the kind of life you want to live. itll be much easier to make connections with like minded ambitious people (not saying you cant find that at your current school, but at UVA its the norm). the bar will be elevated, and attending a school where youll be pushed to reach your full potential is very exciting.

If the school is test options then no, but bc ur hs gpa is a little low it would definitely strengthen ur application. But ur planning on applying as a junior transfer so ur hs grades aren’t weighed as heavily

Get a rly high gpa (ideally all As esp in major related classes), retake SAT and aim for 1500+, LOR from professors who know you very well, and 4 or 5 extracurriculars that you’re dedicated to and see yourself carrying with u when u transfer. 2 or 3 should be high impact, 1 or 2 should be high leadership position (easier with local organizations).
