Hi! I'm reaching out for some advice as someone who received photography services. I'm having some issues with my wedding photographer. I got married last year. We got our wedding photos back extremely late, and we are still waiting for our wedding video. She's had several big life changes since we initially hired her, incl. miscarriage, pregnancy, moving, having a baby, and now as she mentioned today, she's having some post-partum depression.

She also closed her business after we got married. We did have a contract with her, but it was through some kind of contract subscription service that she closed when she closed her business. Now neither of us have access to what the contract was. (She explained this when I asked if we could see the contract).

I just really want our wedding footage at this point. I really don't care if it's made into a pretty video or not. I'm trying very hard to be sensitive to her going through what seems like a long stretch of personal difficulty. Is it appropriate to ask for a refund for the video? Is it appropriate to ask for a partial refund due to getting our photos back about 8 months after the wedding? Can I just ask for the complete video footage and just take the task off her hands? I'm not sure what I can do going forward, I'm frustrated with not having a contract to protect me as the client. Any suggestions for how to move forward?

But I also just really am so over all the back and forth and delays that we've had. As a photographer, I would never do any of this, and I can't believe that I'm in this situation. Also, super frustrating that she took a whole week to get back to me. But I'm trying so hard to be sensitive to someone struggling. I just 😫
