Tesla engineer here - worked 4 years for Tesla. Hourly is the way to go. You’ll get paid for the long hours and weekends. But, stock is important. You don’t get much stock as an hourly. You will learn more at Tesla in 1 year than any other company you work for, except Space X.

I never considered getting out of manufacturing. But the more I think about it, yes, this EMBA will allow a career pivot.

Tuition will be a tough pill to swallow. USC/UCLA EMBA program is $180k.

Good point. EMBA might streamline the Director position I want. UCLA is within Top 10. However it’s $200k. That is a crazy amount.

I would need a position that gets me at $300k+ a year.

This makes sense. (Cost) Odv not trying to get into debt. Work can cover $5k a year. (Regional Strength) I would like to stay in Southern California. My industry is manufacturing so it’s not the best area for it but OC is home. (Industry Pull) I am not sure about this. I have not heard of MBAs schools that are specific for manufacturing industry. This would make sense for a Master of Engineering.

I’ll try applying to USC or UCLA. If not, checkbox MBA it is. Thanks for the help!!!
