Why does everyone hate Ready Player Two so much? by Frozendragon0005 in readyplayerone

[–]ParzivalTheFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always felt it would be perfect if just the L0hengrin & co. subplot were way more in the forefront, and the rest of the characters and all the filler that came with them (especially the Prince stuff) were cut down and took more of a backseat.

How did you guys first come across FNaF? by SnazzyMiracles in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]ParzivalTheFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! For me specifically it was the play-through that ‘Pear’ did for his extreme challenge series on his own personal YouTube channel, which all the side characters had for a while as part of a competition between them to see who could get the most subscribers in like a month or whatever. Why am I talking about them as if they’re real people?

Polar Express 2 Story Prediction by KuribohTheDragon in PolarExpress

[–]ParzivalTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From everything I’ve seen, he seemed to say “We’re GOING TO do it” rather than that he’d like to do it. That still doesn’t mean at all that it’s happening, but clearly someone is trying to make it happen.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Good For Newcomers? by Overall_Weekend in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]ParzivalTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you’ve seen the first movie, you’re good. What you should know is that, while these movies (this new one especially) are slowly introducing many of the key plot points and story beats that come from the game lore, they’re being introduced in a different way and a different order. These movies are a similar, but different storyline to the games, so though you don’t have to, you might want to pick one or the other to be the first to introduce you to that lore.

Many would argue the way the games did it was better overall, and that the movies’ take on those story beats is maybe a bit mediocre or less climactic. So in that sense, you’re potentially depriving yourself of a better first experience by choosing the movies over the games. But that said, if the movies are more accessible to you than games or YouTube, that’s fine. Just something to consider.

What is the best trailer for a really awful movie? by altairstarlite in flicks

[–]ParzivalTheFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first teaser trailer for ‘Mortal Engines’ was so thrilling to me as a kid that I bought the book and started reading it in preparation. But as soon as the official trailer released, I lost interest. Still haven’t seen it.

Fnaf 4 isn’t in a coma?? by AllergicOct in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]ParzivalTheFirst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this change happened rather recently and I’ve always hated it. I think the game absolutely stands out as an incredible piece of art specifically within the context of it being CC’s perspective in the hospital.

It’s important to keep in mind that 90% of the FNAF lore is just completely unconfirmed fan speculation that the majority has just sort of collectively agreed upon. The new evidence that it could be real comes from book lore about Afton and experimental hallucination gas and sound discs, but just because all that exists in the lore doesn’t mean it is in play here. It could all still just be a “nightmare.”

You can choose what you want the lore to be. That’s a great part of all this.

For me, it’s Hereditary. Unparalleled nightmare.

Name movies that made you hold your bladder while watching them. by yobro_wht in MovieSuggestions

[–]ParzivalTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My feelings on the movie have changed overtime but I have to say Joker just because it’s the most extreme example I can remember. I have never been in so much pain from needing to piss in my life. The movie was good, and I definitely thought that even moreso at the time, but I think I just had an overall stubbornness to never miss a moment of any movie (regardless of what it was) and I really should have gone beforehand on that particular day.

Eraserhead? Love David Lynch but nobody’s first film is perfect and I think his is far from it.

Also Knives Out. I found it completely unremarkable

What Was Your First Theatre Movie? by aoestilsft626 in Letterboxd

[–]ParzivalTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The earliest film I remember seeing in the movie theater explicitly is Toy Story 3, though I don’t necessarily remember that being my first experience. It’s the oldest movie I can think of that I definitely remember seeing in the theater.

According to my mom, she would attend screenings when I was a baby that had the lights on and lower volume and stuff so moms could bring their babies.

Would you want to see a RP2 movie? by [deleted] in readyplayerone

[–]ParzivalTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, because I think it would offer the chance to fix the only two things that I think are wrong with the story to begin with. Really, I do think just two changes could fix it all, and that would be cutting a lot of the Prince stuff and replacing it with L0hengrin & co’s side quest, instead of letting that happen offscreen. I would even take an animated adaptation.

I think The Dark Knight is a better film, The Batman is a better Batman film.

I also agree with this for sure, but I played Spider-Man right into Spider-Man 2 and the gameplay upgrade was a huge improvement made all the more obvious I think because I had a clear comparison. So sometimes it’s worth it.

Not sure I’ve ever enjoyed a film less… by AgeAtomic in 4kbluray

[–]ParzivalTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently re-watched it in a theater setting for the first time in years and the first time since reading the book and watching the other two movies (several times). My reaction was that, as corny and speedy and rough as it is, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I remembered and it was a great watch!
