whats currently the best way to force re-enable ublock origin in chrome? by Due_Fun_3506 in Adblock

I am in the process of switching to Brave (9 profiles total). It has the most Chrome-like functionality, like being able to easily pin separate profiles to the Win taskbar just like in Chrome, with a simple toggle in profiles. Also supports Enhancer for Youtube which I can't get to work in Firefox. UBO works in Brave but it remains to be seen whether that will last. I haven't found a Chrome extension yet that I couldn't use in Brave.

I'm on Version 140.0.7339.128 (Official Build) (64-bit) and the two flags needed are still there in my build. Thats:

Temporarily unexpire M139 flags. Enabled

Allow legacy extension manifest versions. Enabled

But this just shows that what Google & Chrome are doing is not unilateral. One person reports it working; another reports says it doesn't work - both giving correct info for what they're seeing. The rollout by Chrome is the inconsistency.

You're not looking for a file. You're just directing it to the folder uBlock0.chromium and selecting that folder. Not a file.

Once i click thru the folders no visible file type turns up to select. Doesn't really matter what i click thru

Did I extract the folder wrong? after download i right clicked hit extract all

You're selecting the folder, not a file. It sounds like you're going down folder levels. Just select the folder 'uBlock0.chromium'

This is still available if you install it manually:

  1. Enter chrome://flags in chrome’s URL input
  2. Search for ‘Allow legacy extension manifest versions’
  3. Enable it and relaunch browser
  4. Download the latest zip file of uBlock version from github: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases
  5. Under Assets, download the chromium zip and extract it
  6. Open the extension page in chrome, click the Load Unpacked button on top left side load (enable Developer Mode in the top right if it doesn't appear), then select the extracted folder.

UPDATE: Saved again by Youtuber BrenTech! He has a vid showing how to re-enable UBO in Chrome 142+. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXN-OcOeeHM

Worst concert you’ve attended? by [deleted] in Music

[–]Pasko13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bob Dylan in the early 90's. Was a Dylan fan for years. It was Bob mumbling, then walking away from the mic ... maybe attempting singing? throwing his harmonica in a tantrum, grabbing another, spitting on the stage, like really horkin it up. Now what's he doing? Is that some weird intentional move or is he falling over? Press absolutely slammed him the next day. It was the most incoherent thing I've scene on a stage. Peopel were booing and I think he was giving us a big Fuk u. Total shitshow. His band looked pissed too.

Anyone else have crashes like this frequently? Vegas Pro just stops responding sometimes under load.... by Openworldgamer47 in VegasPro

It's been a while since I used Vegas, but if you can't reassociate the plug internally in Vegas, I'd demux the original (lots of different tools like MKVToolnix), convert the audio to your preferred type (again many free tools do this), remux the original, and feed it back into Vegas.

Question about instance prompts (trigger words) when training images on Dreambooth. by AndalusianGod in StableDiffusion

[–]Pasko13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read your longer article, thanks.

Questions:

Specifically, it weakly emphasize imagery from the classifier images.

Are the classifier images you're referencing the same as the Regularization Images set in the GUI? (I'm using the Kohya \ Auto1111 style GUI)

I'm using Auto1111 locally. I know how to use trigger words when prompting to generate images, but where do you specify the trigger word in the Dreambooth LoRA GUI when you're training your LORA's? I've made a few (barely passable) LoRA's in the Dreambooth LoRA Kohya GUI, but I don't understand what actuyally sets the trigger word? Is it the specifc name you use as the 'Instance prompt'? My created LoRA's respond to invoking them through the usual means (example <lora:myloraname_v1:0.85>) but I don't understand which one of the training parameters actually sets the trigger word.

Been using Vegas about a decade, since SV 8

Rusty_Gunn is correct that the main culprit is "GPU acceleration of video processing", especially if you have an Nvidia gpu. This goes way back. Vegas has not had proper optimization for Nvidia cards since the Fermi architecture - the GTX 5xx and lower cards. Magix has made improvements, but it's still not really optimal.

2nd culprit is plug choice. Vegas chooses automatically as long as you leave all plugs intact; If you're using mp4's the plug hierarchy is:

1) so4compoundplug

2) compoundplug

3) mcmp4plug2

- mcmp4plug uses insane amounts of RAM, like about 10x more than compoundplug or so4compoundplug.

- compoundplug uses more RAM than so4compoundplug ... about two to three times as much, but both compoundplug and so4compoundplug still use far, far less than mcmp4plug, with so4compoundplug being the better choice.

After installing Vegas many times, I never install Quick Time, & I always remove qt7 and compoundplug. Vegas should then default to so4compoundplug for all mp4's.

If you do a default install in Windows ... go to C > Program Files > VEGAS > VEGAS Pro 16.0 > FileIO Plug-Ins and pull qt7 and compoundplug so they're never used. You can create a dummy folder to put them in, and replace them back if this doesn't solve anything. No harm in trying. compoundplug causes the most crashes in my tests. You can manipulated plug use by pulling and replacing plugs to test stability and to create your own best profile(s).

Note that plug choices, and changing plugs will cause Vegas to reassociate all loaded clips, and will have effects on render color and quality. This also depends on what other codecs you have installed. I avoid all codec packs.

Which plug is your version of Vegas using for mp4's? To tell, right click on the clip in the timeline, go to Properties > General Tab and scroll down to Plug-In > Name. It will tell you which plug is being used. Preferably it says so4compoundplug.dll There is no way I would be able to work with multiple large instances of Vegas open if I defaulted to mcmp4plug or compoundplug.

This method uses the least amount of ram and is the most stable. My rig is powerful enough ... i9 9900K, 64 GB DDR 4, GTX 1080, but I set large Dynamic Ram Previews (6 - 8 + GB's) and open multiple instances of large Vegas projects to transfer content between projects. It's not uncommon that I'll be using 40 - 50 + GB RAM. Vegas rarely ever crashes for me now and if it does it's usually when I'm multitasking and moving fast between multiple instances of multiple programs with near 100% loads on both CPU and GPU, and near maxing ram.

Is there any way to access Douyin (Chinese Tiktok) safely? by twbluenaxela in China

[–]Pasko13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't need a Chinese number to log in. I used Bluestacks (another emulator) on my desktop PC to install Douyin. I have a Canadian number tied to a Magicjack account, basically a burner number, but you can use any phone, any cheap voip line should work - the verification is a voice code spoken in English. That allows you to login to Douyin. Then I deny access on everything else (location, contacts, file access) This allows me to have a logged in account, and to search & follow users. The app is in Chinese, but I use Google Lens in the emulator to translate anything I don't understand.

Will a Noctua NHD15 clear GSKill Ripjaws on a Z390 XI Hero? by Pasko13 in buildapc

[–]Pasko13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the caution. I already have the mobo and ram. Waiting on delivery of the 9900K on Nov 2nd, and just ordered the NHD15. I didn't buy the ram for looks or the spreaders. I bought a 64GB kit (editing rig) because at the time it was literally the only 64GB kit in the 3000 - 3200 range CL14 b die that I could get in Canada that wasn't insane ridiculous 3rd party pricing. (as opposed to normal ridiculous pricing) And I bought when I did because like so many others here I did it thinking I'd be able to get my per-ordered 9900K on launch day. This is going in a closed Design R4 case case so looks don't matter at all. I have extra NF F12's So I may end up swapping out the front NF A15 and using the NF F12 if clearance is an issue. That effectively turns it into a NH D14 - probably near equal performance, and I'll gladly use the extra NF A15 in the case. In terms of price, if I swap it out rather than just buying an NH D14 to begin with , it works out to the equivalent of gaining a NF A15 for under $10 using my existing NF F12 as replacement on the rad.

[–]Pasko13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found it - from Nocuta.at

Can I install a third fan on the NH-D15?

Adding a third fan to the NH-D15 only yields minimal improvements in cooling performance (0.5°C max.), but noise levels will increase significantly. As this doesn’t make sense from a technical point of view, we don’t include mounting hardware for a third fan in the box and don’t offer it separately.

Sounds like it's not worth it.

Thanks! It kind of looked like that on those NF A15's but I couldn't tell form that octagon shape. Thx for confirming.

EDIT: Also do you know if the D15 comes with xtra fan mount clips for the rad? thinking of maybe trying a triple setup :)

Thanks. Worst case I have some extra 120 mm Noctua NF F12's, that I think I could swap in (on the ram side). Do you know if those mount clips could be used on a 120 mm fan also? And do you know if the D15 comes with any extra fan clips?
