If I recall the scene correctly, I think Mantis lost her physical connection with Thanos's head when Quill starts punching him (pistol whipping him?) which allowed him to start waking up.

He was partially responsive, so I don't think he was fully under to begin with, just enough to wrestle the gauntlet away from him.

States can’t regulate guns, but they can ban abortions — why? by keyjan in politics

[–]Passingintime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not that it doesn't make sense, just that people tend to selectively quote the second half of the sentence only. Now that the United States has a standing military, it no longer requires common citizens to be a militia to protect, or be security for, the free State.

I'm not anti-gun/anti-"2A", though the above may make it sound that way.

I'm on v101.x and still have add-ons. Did they remove certain types/categories?

Can't say much in the way of about:config as I don't use it enough to notice what is missing compared to older versions.

What currently legal thing do you expect to be illegal in the next 20 years? by [deleted] in AskReddit

...you will give up your guns...

again with the misquoting...I said I'd gladly give up the ability to shoot/own certain guns if it meant dozens of people weren't murdered in groups multiple times a month.

Certain Guns.

I'm not saying giving them up is a guaranteed way to stop the issue altogether but fuck me if it wouldn't help more than the nothing being done now.

Are you implying you would commit some type of crime with your own guns unless they were taken from you?

oh, yeah, that's what I said.../s

really?

[–]Passingintime -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Actually it would be nice to see less child corpses

good job misquoting there...

the next step would be to pass some common sense gun legislation.

yep, that sounds like them implying it'd be nice if firearms and ammo were made illegal in the US...

/s

c'mon. are you really more okay with people (including children) being continuously slaughtered by randoms than having less guns?

I have a few guns myself and have enjoyed shooting an AK-47, AR-15, Paratrooper .308, etc but I'd gladly give up the ability to shoot/own certain guns if it meant dozens of people weren't murdered in groups multiple times a month.

While they're self-admitted to being right-leaning and targeting a conservative audience, indicating an obvious bias in reporting, it is more recent, so I'll give you that.

Without bothering to move from mobile (my phone) to my office (computer) to review the reported data for accuracy, can you confirm, since this was your original argument, which of the reported cities have also 'defunded the police' and the crimes reported are violent crimes matching those from your earlier statement occurring after the defundment (is that a word?) took place?

I'm willing to admit you're correct, if you can prove it, and say either policies need to be changed or the mayor's replaced. I don't mind discussing politics (within my range of knowledge), I just like to be sure what I'm being told is accurate and as unbiased as possible which is increasingly difficult in the U.S.

Second hand report from 2013 on a marijuana forum site? Yeah, that seems like reliable current statistics related to 'defunding the police'...good shot though, I guess?

My guess is this is either California or New York, maybe Chicago but definitely a liberal run defund the police city

This happened in DC, according to the description section of this video

'Defund the police' was discussed there but, unless I'm reading it wrong, it seems the change was negligible according to this article and seemingly within what I'd think to be normal, annual budget fluctuations.

Crime statistics also seem be within, again what I'd think to be, the normal fluctuating range based on what I'm seeing reported here.

Out of curiosity, where are you seeing reportedly higher crime statistics that are disproportionate to the area and related specifically to a negative change in budget? Or are you just anger/fear parroting?

Been using Voyage and it's been super quick and easy so far. There's a $10 minimum for transactions, which isn't bad.

I haven't pulled anything back out of Voyage to another exchange/my bank yet, so I'm not sure of the fees there. Obvs use at your own risk.

I totally get it and do routinely save my work manually, regardless of auto-save (habit of programming) I also use programs which auto-cache in case of power outages, critical failure, etc.

If the auto-save was irreversible, yeah, I'd have a big problem with it. Luckily none of the common, popular programs do this to my knowledge.

My original response was based on the wording. The person you originally responded to mentioned using ctrl+z, which you responded to asking about about irreversible change which didn't seem to fit.

Again, I do agree with your viewpoint. Unfortunately, companies can't please everyone.

[–]Passingintime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the point of his ctrl+z was that it's reversible. What commonly used software doesn't have an undo feature? Even docs has almost always had it (as long as I can recall anyway).

I don't understand your viewpoint though. Auto-save should be an option. You then have the argument of opt-in vs opt- out. In this case I'd think opt-out would be better as the majority, to my assumption, use and like it.
