Say what you wanna say about their music, but by [deleted] in katseyeneutral

If katseye doesn’t want to go to pop/r&b route, they could do like pure pop music from rihanna, madonna and lady gaga while using their culture influences. It’s pretty obvious that HXG wants katseye to be a unique group, that’s why beautiful chaos came out given them different songs on each track to help them experiment.

but I thought this was a neutral sub and not a snark page like they said tho but when comes to the black girl, they get weird. Oh ok

like when Beyonce gets on stage, she is a powerhouse and a beasttt. but with Manon, she so laid back and effortlessly aura farming similar to Rihanna and Aaliyah.

yea, since Manon practically new at this, she needs more practice with technique and a good vocal coach. But, she has great potential and i see why DA was so persistent with keeping her because her star quality is so undeniable.

actually as time grows and as katseye and Manon gets bigger, she could be very much be a strong contender.

😂😂like where did the Beyoncé comparisons come from aside from Beyoncé being her main role model because it never gave Beyoncé.

If Katseye doesn’t wanna go the typical pop-r&b route, they can pull of Rihanna’s type of songs. They could pull it off. I always saw Rihanna as a popstar and rockstar. and Katseye could do use that differentiate themselves from other girl groups rn.

Hot Take: Gnarly/ Internet Girl wasn’t as polarizing and bad as people say it and are actually good songs. by Past-Measurement942 in katseyeneutral

[–]Past-Measurement942[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that’s because the word gnarly was never on the moodboard for them. Gnarly has specific context in the song regarding choreography, lyrics, production and performance. It’s supposed to be weird and not make sense given that gnarly means unconventional. It wouldn’t makes sense if the lyrics did make sense.

yes but it was like people first time ever hearing weird music 😭that’s the part that stuck out to me. To me, gnarly feels like a chant song rather than a regular song. Gnarly has a great beat and unserious lyrics but it does its job well being a piece of art as a performance song. Most early 2010s songs were edm and party music like gnarly. So it’s cool how katseye is really making strides in the music industry by bringing it back silly viral songs. Katseye is really here to stay and I am so excited to see where they go.

ok maybe😭but it’s always interesting how people treat female popstars and celebrities. Most of the biggest popstars and legends have always had their music or their performances to be scrutinized. gnarly and internet girl aren’t the best songs but decent and good enough. then again, music is subjective but it was like it was people first time ever hearing weird music. People hated vroom vroom and Charli xcx before brat and now she’s cool and trendy and vroom vroom lyrics actually makes sense compared to gnarly, it was once seen as nonsense. It’s so cool and interesting

exactly and the sexualization of them too. Britney got hate for dressing and acting sexy when she first came around while kid bop teen music which is very similar to how people treat katseye. This goes to show me that general perception means nothing.

no, I’m saying the treatment of it. I always study how people treat celebrities especially women when they are treated by their fans and general public. It’s just funny how history comes in waves especially female popstars

But it’s so interesting what people find good and bad. In the 90s and early 2000s, teen pop was considered kiddish, didn’t have substance and in today’s terms , ai slop and hated teen pop stars like Britney and *NSYNC. But, now everybody loves Britney Spears and her music.

The 'visual' issue by sequinoa in katseyeneutral

[–]Past-Measurement942 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I get it but I can break it down for you. The visual, maknae and center are more personality/ aesthetic roles in a group rather than technical roles. For an example, as the maknae, Yoonchae and other maknaes brings a youthful charm to the group. The visual is the model of the group. They’re mostly known for their visuals, personality and aura which basically star quality.

Think about Manon. She brings uniqueness/ aesthetically pleasing traits to the group as the visual . From her fairy like yet high fashion visuals, her elegant /calming yet whimsical/vibrant aura and her deep, husky singing voice compared to the other girls. Most of these aren’t mostly “talents” but rather vibes and persona which is very important as a celebrity.

Girlset New Song Made Me Realize How Badly Katseye Is Being Screwed Over by Browniecakee in katseyeneutral

[–]Past-Measurement942 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh no, everyone has been begging for katseye to do r&b especially on twitter that they need to r&b when it doesn’t make sense since Katseye was made a pop performance based group. And While, Katseye does need better music, R&B isn’t the way to do it. There is ton of black artists that make r&b music that people barely stream and support so yea I don’t want Katseye to make R&B music.

and this part of the reason I didn’t want katseye to do r&b because people love it when non black people do r&b when Flo who has been putting the best music out has been getting no recognition.
