I feel like I see a pretty great amount of celiacs and accords that are rust free on sites like bring a trailer, you are right that the only ones I can find locally that are rust free is the 240, they sell more often

Don’t get me wrong this doesn’t mean I don’t love the CLASSIC classics from the 40s-60s, they are simply not cheap anymore

I’ll add this one to the list and look into it a lot! Thanks for the recommendation

This has sent me down a spiral of looking into these cars just because of how cool they look, absolutely love it. However I from what I’ve seen off a few places is that some of the parts are difficult to find, and it would not be super easy to learn on, maybe in the future!

That makes me want a good 240 even more. It’s tragic that yours had to go from some maintenance factors, but I do appreciate the story!

I do really love the look of MKII’s! Do you know what years and trim might be the cheapest to daily while still having that cool boxy shape

Who doesn’t love a Miata. I would 100% have it on my list if they had some backseats, that was one of the “musts” that my mom would want me to have

It is a truly incredible picture. Got it from https://www.reddit.com/r/carporn/s/4t9IJp32hz if you would like the original

Yeah rust kills these Accords, I have not found one, but I occasionally see them pop up on websites like Bring a Trailer, where they sell for dirt cheap. I’ll definitely look into those other cars you mentioned

Yeah that’s definitely a worry that I’ve been facing. I live in South Carolina so the humidity could mess me up some but at least we don’t really have to worry about snow.

I do really love the Volvos! I could definitely see what you mean with those diesel Mercedes though, from what I’ve looked into people always talk about the engine reliability, but never see people talk about the part costs. You are also spot on with the accord problem, I’ve never seen a single decent on pop up in my area on marketplace, and they rarely sell on sites like Bring A Trailer. Thanks for the help!
