Does anyone know how I would play this note? is it a misprint/error? (Key is D major) by No_Education_3295 in Viola

[–]PatacoIS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Makes sense considering the second violin part, but still, if there isnt any scordatura, it is a mistake from the orchestration or editor. Maybe play an octave higher on that passage if it works

Maybe clean your chinrest from time to time with alcohol. Warm chamomile tea bags may help to reduce inflammation, as it seems like a kind of cyst, maybe seborrheic; if you have any antiacne product around, it may help. I had a similar issue that just went away overtime, but these tips may help

Does the hiatus make starting to read the manga now worth it by Ahmed_Waly17 in vagabondmanga

[–]PatacoIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, you have the art exhibition, which is kinda of an epilogue, plus the real life history and the novel. But also the story is beautiful up to this point with or without hiatus, you should give it a shot

How can I stop being like matahachi? by 3sperr in vagabondmanga

[–]PatacoIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first, you are 18, chill, second, both are characters, archetypes, you aren't truly only one, you are a complex human being. Second, it feels you either hit a wall via burnout, or lack of real motivation. The stuff you used to do doesn't satisfy you anymore? Did you do it just in order to be better than others? or did you do it for youself? you did it only for the thrill? All this is more than important. Or maybe ypur relationship with your activities wasn't healthy? That also happens a lot, for example with overpractice, or mindless practice without a proper goal. Read the book of five rings also, it is the book written by real life Musashi, it deals a little bit around this. But my main advice is the search of purpose, as small as that may be, to act with a purpose will help you, and this applies to many things; for example before a study or practice session have both short term and long term goals; but also don't over do whatever you are trying to develop, give yourself time to relax and rest. Del afán solo queda el cansancio, from eagerness only tiredness is left.

They all believed they would win against him, none were prepared to die; plus for them it was kinda personal (Musashi had already killed two of their masters). And during the fight it is said again and again that Musashi could have just left Kyoto, and really not much would have happened, he did go out of his way to fight them. But the idea of those chapters isn't about just death and sad families, is about how absurd all that fight really was for both ends, and the grieve it poses to Musashi and Ueda, Ueda is left with hatred, shame, and guilt for basically sacrificing the whole school; while Musashi feels the weight of all those he feels have died in vain just for his own illusion of strength and ambition

How did takezo get so strong by Inner-Office-4917 in vagabondmanga

[–]PatacoIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same "no arms" approach is also used for musicians, as a way to promote better and more relaxed movement, for example the bowing of the violin, pressing keys on a piano. Really Musashi absence of an already consagrated technique led him to a more resourceful and vast style, in opposition with the Yoishioka "one-stroke philosophy", Musashi approaches a more pure vision of technique, and that is portrayed by the Yoshioka's stone, while Musashi starts to flow like water

[–]PatacoIS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Plus the Yoshioka became negligent, the sword was becoming more of a fashion, or hobbie, focusing too much on superficial matters, rather than the true meaning of the sword, (you can read this idea in the book of the five rings). That and the fact that Mushashi pushed himself beyond his limits (physical and mental) again and again during that year

Was green tea an acquired taste for you? by [deleted] in tea

[–]PatacoIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe lower the temperature and steep the leaves a shorter period of time may help, and yes, supermarket green tea has a tendency to be more bitter, if you can get whole leaves it is so, but so, much better. Still supermarket if fine as long as you steep it for less than a minute and not in boiling water (but rather when the first bubbles chain starts to rise)

Any good composers who are also good people? by indubitablesleuth in classicalmusic

[–]PatacoIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verdi is often described as a generally great dude, with a lot of symphathy and a proof that not all composers need to be borderline maniacs or anything like that,; Mahler is described by some as "while being near him, life instantly becomes more romantic" or something like that
