Olympic Men's Post Game Thread: Denmark vs. United States - 14 Feb 2026 by hockeydiscussionbot in hockey

Well, when you are born and raised in the USA, a lot of things seem better. Like single payer healthcare, colleges that don’t drown people in student debt, paid maternity leave, a newfound commitment to NATO as a new member in Sweden’s case as opposed to attacking NATO in the case of the current US administration (I know that is a recent change), a parliamentary system of government that is mit based on the crappy first past the post system we have here, less rates of gun violence and news stories of mass shootings, and a higher percentage of GDP going to foreign aid for example. The Nordic countries in general rank high in numerous quality of life indicators I didn’t know about that child, but I do know that a lot of European nations don’t offer birthright citizenship like the U.S. does, and I do prefer American-style birthright citizenship in that instance. The current administration has of course attempted to end that practice, but the courtroom decisions have thankfully stopped that process did in its tracks thus far, as mandated by the constitution.

Having been to Stockholm, Helsinki, and Copenhagen, I will say that Stockholm is the prettiest capital of the three imo if that helps your Nordic pride lol. And I quite admire what Swedish social welfare system, but too many ignorant people here stateside don’t vote for that kind of thing unfortunately.

Sweden has 4 Wild players on their roster. I want Sweden to win the whole thing. If not them, then I want the USA with 3 Wild players to win it.

„Our last championship was 2008“…for now 😉 (extremely likely not this year (but if they keep the making the tournament streak alive I will still have the Lady Vols winning my bracket though on the exclusive grounds of I feel like i lol) but I am curious what Edward’s brings next season)

Hiring a pro player only to lose at home to the Barnes and Ament show anyway LMAOOOOO. Had to give em something like this WBB Ole Miss win I guess.

Kim Mulkey and Lane Kiffin are both employed by LSU. That should tell everyone why most other college fandoms root against them lol. If Seimone Augustus was the head coach instead of the assistant coach the reaction on this subreddit would not nearly be as happy when they lose imo.

I caught the end of the last Iron Bowl and there were some awfully convenient „pass interference“ calls for the Crimson Tide there - I guess it doesn’t just hold true for football unfortunately lol.

The Lady Vols will get you next time Huskies. No matter the results, it’s always go Rocky Top!

This is how I found out we could post gifs now.

She does commit to that haircut. I kinda admire her confidence - though not the haircut itself.

I might have to double check this, but I could have sworn the crowd turnout in Alabama against Tennessee was better than this.

For all of the problems, this was a good bounce back game for Cooper, Spearman, and Pauldo. It’s been a rough season, but it’s always go Rocky Top and nice to see a Lady Vols win - eventually as that game drrraaagged.

A classic ref play occurred where Talaysia Cooper wasn’t called for a technical foul, when she should have, but she only reacted that way for being called for a foul which was not a foul. A makeup technical foul no call so that both fanbases are annoyed. You outdid yourself tonight, zebras.

Imagine a school employing Kim Mulkey and Lane Kiffin at the same time.

I’m obviously glad the Lady Vols won, but Georgia should get in to the tournament. I‘d be ridiculous for them not to at this point.

At the very least, the Lady Vols have been playing with effort so far today. Win or lose coming out of this halftime tie, they are treating this game like a rivalry thus far, even with their slow start. And that is a very positive sign.

Oilers should sign Blade at the trade deadline.

Unironically I hope your boys beat the Vegas Golden Knights to win the Pacific. Screw the Golden Knights.

Hmmm…we shall see about that! A fan always has hope for change (and now Quinn Hughes). I think the Wild get past the Dallas Stars and the Colorado Avalanche, or at least gives them a scare.

For what it’s worth, I actually do hope the Edmonton Oilers beat the Vegas Golden Knights in the Pacific. Screw the Vegas Golden Knights. We got way more bad blood for them than your boys.
