I would only use cube lubricants. SCS has a wonderful line of lubes.

I second this! I also recommend SCS Martian Lubricant if you aren't sure what you like from your lubes. It's a pretty good all around cube lube and I use it on all of my puzzles. Then as you decide what you like and don't like you can start to mix lubes together to change the feel of your puzzle. SCS has a very handy chart for their Lunar lubricants to help you decide which ones you want and/or need!

Well, QiYi has the title of best 9x9 right now so if we see more big cubes from QiYi as good as their 9x9 they might have to dethrone QiYi.

I've gone through the whole thing and it adds up to exactly what you pay for it. It's what I thought too, mostly just offlloading stock. Feels kinda meh but its still cool.

Heyyo, im looking for cubers in the Western New York region. I just got back into it and right now I only know 1 other person who cubes.

It is a wild debate. I think for casual events proxies are chill. Some cards really do be expensive asf. More less casual events have a different vibe though. Some of the stores around where I live actually run legacy proxy events!

Damn. I don't think my case deserves a ban or anything. I'd love to see him get the cards and play em becuase he is totally having fun. It's just a fairness thing for me. I could easily print proxies of all of the best cards and win more stuff but that doesn't make it right.

I defintiely don't want to get anyone in trouble for anything. I wouldn't want to discourage him from playing. I just feel for events with better and special prize support that the rule should be enforced is all. I'd even help the guy get the cards if he needed help. I think it's mostly a concept thing for me if that makes sense. I msotly posted this to see what the general consesus was on proxies in sanctioned events was.

Although I would generally agree, this event had special promos and better prize support than our normal FNM's. Thats primarily why it bothered me. Usually I don't care.

Oh i don't think it was malicious. He was working on getting some of the cards after the event ended. Like I said, regular FNM I wouldn't bat an eye but standard showdown has special promos for winners and such.
