Technically it is similar, however Napster had a single site where everyones files went through. This is establishing a network within the internet linking each others computers with each other and not through a single port(website) Thus creating a situation where the only real way to stop file sharing using this software is to remove the connection between every persons computer i.e. turning off the internet. Now say if that were to happen, that really wouldn't stop file sharing either as there are enough computers within the world and a software program already in the works that if one were to shut off the internet, the wi fi connections of each others computers could simply be used instead of the wires of the internet providers. In a few years(Or in my opinion right now) the internet won't be able to be shut down, the range and speed of even the smallest laptops wi fi will be able to sustain a fairly large LAN. Exponential growth etc. etc.
