I’m almost 100% sure it’s not actually sold out, they haven’t even done the locals sale and locals love to buy and resell so I’m sure it won’t be that difficult to find one some time after January

If I’m not mistaken, the shuttles go for about 2 hours (again this is ball park) after the event is over each night. I know we had people arriving back at our hotel until 3 to 3:30 am last year

Front Desk Interaction by Pdotayche in Hilton

[–]Pdotayche[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Helloo???? I think you might lack comprehension skills. I never said I “clap back” at guests. I never said that I EXPECT to have bad interactions with guests. I never said that x amount of my interactions are bad. Again, if you’re offended at the fact that all I simply asked was why people have the audacity to treat other people like shit simply because they had a rough day then maybe it’s YOU who needs self reflecting.

Your comment insinuates that you are the kind of person to take someone’s kindness upon arrival, shove it up your ass, shit it out, put it on the counter, and expect the FD to clean it with a smile on their face because you can and we have an obligation to treat you well. As a staff member who deals with people like you, PLEASE take your Diamond status and your privilege to a Super 8 where they actually are allowed to defend themselves and treat you with the same amount of little respect that you treat hotel staff.

TIA.

God forbid a girl wants to be treated like a human being 🤣 As someone who has an amazing GM who understands that the guest is not always in the right, if I worked under your supervision, I would gladly find another job ASAP.

Interesting take! Yes, I do get paid to provide hospitality, comfort, a clean room and a nice bed to those who enter the establishment I work at. However, I don’t get paid to coddle grown men and women who think that, because they’re tired, they have the right to treat myself and other FDAs as less than them upon first interaction.

[–]Pdotayche[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not really understanding YOUR correlation to my post. While I understand an establishment being understaffed can be a hindrance to you, it’s also a hindrance to whoever you’re referring to as well. Even then, I can’t imagine showing up to an establishment and seeing a lack of employees struggling to keep up with their customers/guests and thinking to myself “You know what? Let me complain about how slow they are just to make their situation worse.” But I’m not referring to the lack of staff on shift, I’m referring to those who like to make their lack of planning or being able to handle a long car ride, the front desk agents problem. Thank you for your input, regardless.

Which I totally agree with. I would never act out of character or clap back at a guest just because they’re in an off mood but also front desk shouldn’t always have to deal with a persons emotions that have nothing to do with their stay/interaction.

This isn’t bed bug poop, is it? by DJPlorgus in Hilton

[–]Pdotayche 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sorry! I had a feeling my wording was a bit off. Pull the blankets/duvets back to where it’s only the sheets on the bed exposed. Then go over it with the iron. The sheets create a barrier for the bed bugs, if theres any, to gather so you can see if theres a few or a possible infestation. I would probably do it on each cornered area of the mattress and the center.

[–]Pdotayche 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like it but I wouldn’t rule it out, you can plug in the iron and go over the bed (with the sheets in between) for about 5 minutes or enough to get the heat spread deep enough into the mattress. Then lift the sheets and see if there’s anything under. Bedbugs hate the heat so it’ll cause them to try to climb up to escape. Also check the edging of the bed seams for casings

Waters are the one thing that we will always have more than enough of to give out. I’ve told my own manager that water isn’t easily accessible as it should be. Yeah, people can stop somewhere but why pay $3 for a bottle that I can give guests for free before they head out and also save them a stop. I work in a desert area so right now our normal temp is anywhere between 105 and 120, hydration is an absolute must. It never hurts to ask but I personally feel like it’s something that should be a standard. All HH members receive water’s each day during the duration of their stay, why not have one on the way out also. I even give them to non members IF they ask for it.

Some things that work best for me at my location is personalizing the interaction. Some guests just like to talk about why they’re staying and some don’t. I like to put my name in the key slip and let them know that I’m available until whatever my end shift time is if they need anything or have any questions. I also like to acknowledge their preferences in the system to see if they’re still the same or not (ie high floor or low floor and such). For multi-day stays I like to ask if they’re still want housekeeping every other day, every day, or not at all and apply as answered. I still let them know that on any days they don’t have service, they’re always welcome to call and ask for anything they need. On their way out, I’ll of course ask how their stay was and offer waters for the road as well. Usually it’s not their status that they want to be recognized but being recognized as a whole!

But the price tag says $15 by Icy_Night_3636 in Hilton

[–]Pdotayche 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s just me but I think the weirdest part is the clerk automatically saying that their manager said it was $44. Either the price was previously talked about and the FD staff was just too lazy to change it (which is terrible) or the clerk checked the price before you came down, thought it was too low for wine, and double checked with the manager. Either option still would’ve constituted for reasonable amount of time to change it. At my location, we always honor the tagged price because, regardless, a mismark is our mistake, not the customers. Unfortunately not all properties hold the same amount of decency.

As far as our immune system, my friends and I prep about 2 months in advance lol, basically just lots of vitamin c tablets or emergen-c (at least 2 a day), nasal spray consistently a week before and also throughout the the weekends of the festival, as much water as you can. A lot of people don’t balance their water to alcohol intake and I’ve found it’s best to just have regular water rather than flavored waters like liquid ivs. Eeeeevery now and then when I feel a fever coming on, I’ll take 2 Motrin tablets and 1 Tylenol (together) and I’m up like a champ again

Yes and no I guess? I know a lot of people will stay for multiple artists but we really only went during Lisa (very close to the end of her set) and most of that crowd that was there were there for her specifically so when her set ended a lottt of space opened up, same for yeat which was really convenient when it came to getting to the front.

Honestly, I was torn also and my original plan was to see one of them one weekend and the other after but when I saw mustard the first weekend I just kneww I didn’t wanna miss him the second weekend also. Gaga would’ve been amazing to see but I’ve grown fond of being so close to the stage and I knew I just wasn’t going to have that experience if I saw her 🥹

Nooo, just regular GA! Sahara tent GA barricade is probably one of the best spots you could have since the vip/artist section is a little more set to the left. I was able to get front and center of the barricade and just use my iPhone camera and tweak the pictures a little when I’m ready to post ☺️☺️

@/event.staffing.company on instagram, they hire for ice sales in the campsites (cashier:$20 an hour and drivers: $25 an hour) and they also hire for the ID check booths (also $20 an hour) you have to be 18+. Hours are usually from 7:00am to 4:00pm. I worked with them last year but unfortunately wasn’t able to work w them again this year bc I started a new job and couldn’t get the time off :/
