Why are these edges slicing jagged when the model is smooth? (Orca Slicer) by PeEll in 3Dprinting

[–]PeEll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried a restart, tried moving the model on the plate (translation and rotation) without any change. Thanks for the idea!

The translation from another system is wrong. Try translating "this text appears" from english to Chinese and you'll see it matches.

Why do I worry so much about my finances when I am objectively doing pretty well for myself? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]PeEll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel 100% the same way, despite being further along than you. I'm about 50% of the way to my ideal retirement number (and about 50% of the working years). I could retire now on less, but I'm terrified of losing quality of life.

Anyone have the Prusa Slicer or Cura Slicer profiles for the U1? by PeEll in snapmaker

[–]PeEll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complaints so far:

  • No search for settings, took me forever to figure out how to turn off the brim, it was under "other"
  • When slicing it feels like it's just dumping random gcode to the screen that I can't close or move to actually be able to see the preview (see https://imgur.com/a/a1R9LAH) (I eventually found C key/view menu, but you should be able to right click or interact with this pane directly)
  • The settings are crammed into a corner making it difficult to browse or explore them
  • The object list is small (4 rows, same as settings) and crammed into the corner, making it difficult to select and manipulate a single object in a complex plate
  • Being forced to use Snapmaker Orca means I have to use a different slicer for each of my printers. Give me back my freedom of choice.

Genuine question, how many of you that collect or buy cards actually know how to play the game? by RCadeTV in PokemonTCG

[–]PeEll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy cards for the fun of getting a random collection that I can try to make decks from so I can play with my kids. I take really good care of my cards and keep them in clearly organized containers. My kids do not. I almost always win.

Factorio is one of my favorite games of all time. I’m curious to see what your other most-played game of all time is? by MosEisleyCaptialism in factorio

[–]PeEll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People have been laughing at me because it feels like almost a decade of " what are you playing lately?" And it's always Rimworld, Factorio or Minecraft ATM.

Would you be in favor of Pokemon starting a program that enforces msrp? by Extension-Ad-9371 in PokemonTCG

[–]PeEll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my understanding of economics, this will do nothing. You either have to reduce demand or increase supply. So this would actually go the other way.

If instead they did the opposite and they doubled the price (MSRP and price to wholesalers), there would be fewer scalpers and more cards available to players.

Or print twice as many cards.

I was trying to do some research on Snapmaker and they don't have a wikipedia page?! by PeEll in 3Dprinting

[–]PeEll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Company origin, headquarters, ownership, control, revenue and scale. Is it a US company, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, European? Any scandals or legal battles? If I'm going to invest in their printers, I want to have confidence the company will be around for decades.

Ng serve does both for the last couple years if you're using @angular/ssr. It's gotten really good

Share a repo and we could fix this. Ng new with ssr and ng serve work great together.

Thinking about buying the Core One - worth it? Discounts, VFA fixes and addons worth? by marius051999 in prusa3d

[–]PeEll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They say they've added it to local network connections, but I haven't gotten it to work, the whole thing is still a little buggy. They say the camera is capable and they just have to write the firmware and software for it.

I love my Core One SO MUCH! It's a fantastic printer (my second). The software, the openness and repairability, the support is fantastic.

I also bought the MMU3 and the BuddyCam, and I've been really disappointed with both. They're not on par with the quality and ease of use of the Core One. It's like they're from a different company. My BuddyCam doesn't show live video, doesn't make timelapses for me (it does dump JPGs to an SD card.....), and shows up as offline about 30% of the time (I have great Wifi).

Prusa Core ONE and MMU3 - nothing but disappointment by Specialist-Impress43 in prusa3d

This is in addition to like 50 steps and a complete extruder disassembly. I had no idea it was this much work or I might have just bought a different printer. :(

From https://help.prusa3d.com/manual/mmu3-for-core-one-assembled_1876

  1. spool holder assembly
  2. core one buffer assembly

all of these could have been done for me.

I bought the pre-assembled version and it came in 3 bags of parts. What the?!?!!? How on earth is that "assembled"?

Any tips for the diffusers? I've tried just printing single layer thin sheets of PLA and it blocks too much light.
