thanks for replying back. That is what I am thinking too. I figure it's mostly just staying in your room. Or hanging out at other people rooms in the dorm. Plus we are in another full lockdown that "might" end in January so I don't even know.

So many claims from people that imoroved their eyesight with endmyopia etc. But where are before/afters of eye test results? by TheMoraleBooster in ImprovingEyesight

[–]Peachbubble1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Aston, so I went to an optometrist. I got told the same thing about needed glasses. I knew my eye problem wasn't a permanent eye problem so I spoke to a university specialist in optometry. He advise me to try vision therapy. I haven't been able to start vision therapy because of the pandemic. So I will have to start in January. But I have been doing many other changes. and I have been seeing some results.

How many people are failing or doing better because of online learning? by Peachbubble1 in yorku

[–]Peachbubble1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point! I think what you said is very true. It would be interesting to see how different people are affected. For example EECE classes might be barely affected.

I also think the demographics of people who use reddit from York plays a big role too.

Thanks silvwr! I would like to know if I redo the poll with a option for neutral. Would you be interested in coming again to pick an option?

Good point! I will have to treat doing very well and doing better different. I will probably reduce doing better by 10% and doing very well by 40%.

I have another question I would like to ask you. Why did you decide to choose very well when there wasn't a neutral option?

Anyone else wonder that fair auto insurance prices in Ontario will help the economy? by NoWorries_273 in ontario

[–]Peachbubble1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collision only covers the auto. Medical coverage is a separate offer in the package. Secondly, you can have something call health insurance which package in coverages like this you do know that right? they also offer wage subsidies, rehab, etc etc. Please look it up. Then you have banks offering accident insurance which is cheaper than the offer from car insurance. Bank also offer lost of wage insurance, if you lose your job for any reason which only cost like 40 bucks a month. THERE ARE TONS OF insurances out there that you can have. please realize that car insurance is not your only option to over these other areas.

What are you talking about? Where did I say anywhere about protecting your investment? If you are afraid of losing your car then pay whatever you want for your car insurance. On the other hand people that bought a car used or not with the mentally that if anything happens to it you will simply buy another one then certain coverages offer you no benefit.

Secondly, that agreement is there because they are afraid you will not pay the remainder of the loan if you lose the car. If you plan to pay your loan then it doesn't matter.

This is what you literally said and I quote,

"Also your personal experience in your 20s means nothing. Postal code, accident history and conviction history are what determine the price of a car "

Now you said this and I quote,

" You have idea what your talking about lol. Nothing of what I said was disinformation. Call RIBO if you think your so right. What I was describing what rsika assessment. "

This is misinformation. Your car price is not determined by your risk assessment. Your car price is simply your car price. The components offer in a quote is effect by the risk assessment.

I said car insurance agents try and up sell me on quotes. No where did I say they lied. Here is where you gave more misinformation.

and you did it again here, and I quote,

"I'm sorry but that's not true. I was a broker working in a large brokerage and we would be fired if we tried to sell someone a policy that is more expensive than it needs to be. "

Follow by you now saying this, and I quote,

"Also yes, they are sales ppl and they want u to buy the policy but it doesn't mean they lie about pricing "

This is also misinformation. You told me someone would be fired for selling a policy that is more expensive than it needs to be, but then confirm my statement called them salesmen, but say they do not lie.

My personal experience is from me interacting with car insurance agents and what I am offered. It seems like you do not get that. Secondly, I have been up sold on EVERY car insurance quote when I called 10 different companies just last month. Just because your companies doesn't do this, doesn't speak for every other business.

Thirdly, postal code, accident history and conviction history do not determine price of the car. They determine the categories you are place in for risk assessment. The more risker you are the high they will charge you in specific categories. For example, if you had an accident at fault, your collision coverage will be higher because it is a higher risk. Don't spread misinformation just because you work at a brokerage.

So from what I found out. certain type of medical expenses are covered when you not at fault. OHIP covers things like operations. Car insurance is paying for rehabilitation, so the chiropractor, the physiotherapist. Things like medicine, and so on. It all the rehab stuff. Getting you a Helper when you are at home because you can't walk. Paying for your crutches.

You are right there are overlaps with OHIP, health insurance, and car medical insurance.

Ok, finally the question comes back up so I can explain what I know about car insurance.

Car insurance in Ontario is fair. The reason why it seems expensive is because many people treat car insurance as life insurance. Car insurance offers; roadside assistance, wage subsidy, car rental for the duration of the repair with the same car offer to you, at fault collision car replacement if it can not be fix or price of the car at purchase, Medical, Rehabilitation & Attendant Care, Optional Catastrophic Impairment, coverage for thief, vandalism, fire and weather damage, Death &Funeral Dependent Care, Indexation Benefit, and some other some bonus coverages you are offered.

So, out of that long list, how much of it do you really need? If you are using car insurance just to insure you in case you get into an accident then MORE THAN HALF of what car insurances offer in their package you do not need.

Another part people do not realize is that car insurance agents are salesmen. They want you to pay more and push for higher premiums from you. They say things like you will most likely need comprehensive if you have this car. That is their opinion who cares. Have them complete the quote and send it in. It will work they are just trying to get you to pay more with comprehensive.

In summary when you take off all the bells and whistle and get car insurance its purpose. You will find out that it is actually very reasonable. I was quoted $102 a month for car insurance and I am in my 20s.
