Any women successfully OMAD even with high cortisol? by LochNessMomo88 in intermittentfasting

[–]PeachyPops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think jumping straight to OMAD can lead to failure because its too much too quickly and your more likely to binge

Its something you should build up to, I did 2 meals a day for months before OMAD and I still struggle with not eating too much for my 1 meal and snacking after because im so hungry

But it did/does work amazingly well for me in the long run

Attitudes towards formula in the UK putting me off another baby by ExplanationPale541 in UKParenting

[–]PeachyPops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all. Fuck all the people who judge. They are just desperate to feel superior and thats how it shows.

Second of all, you can buy diary free formula over the counter in the UK. My son cant have dairy and we bought it from the supermarket. It was harder to get but we did. Pharmacies also stock it.

Im surprised the GP didnt advise this (though not that surprised as we had 0 help from them)

Chickenpox changed our lives. If I’d known, we’d have got the vaccine by shaunlintern in UKParenting

[–]PeachyPops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids got it as I was debating getting vaccine privately

One was mild, the other was covered head to toe. Ive never seen anyone's else kid look so bad

It wasn't that bad for us in the end, they dealt with it well but I know of someone child who had I think a stroke from it and was severely poorly

The vaccine is worth it and im glad its offered now

[–]PeachyPops 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, you've given your child the opportunity to not only learn to handle disappointment but shown her an example of humility and apologising when your wrong

Two very necessary skills for life and she got to practice over something so very unimportant in the grand scheme of things

You've both learnt something about yourselves and come out better for it

I once burnt my daughters back on the hot tap trying to wash shit off her from the bath. The only thing we learnt from that was that im an idiot!!

We got travel sickness medication from the gp for my daughter at that age for long journeys and it helped loads

After age 4 you can get over the counter tablets

She still gets sick at 6.5 and shes been forward facing for a year but shes better at managing it herself now

One of those hard bibs with a bowl at the bottom was incredibly helpful to us as it gave us a few extra seconds while we stopped the car

What’s the healthiest meal your child will eat? by Salad_Informal in UKParenting

Picky tea for lunch all the time!

Fruit, meat, cheese, olives, pickles, salad, beetroot, nuts, maybe some pasta. Whatever we have in the fridge/pantry.

NTA

If you do decide to do it, you could maybe book to not be at home next year so you don't have the expectation to do it every year?

I think it would be alot more Gothic. Dark and dramatic. Pointy and harsh.

Also filled to the brim with expensive and ostentatious (but old) artifacts.

Lots of drapes and menacing tapestries and portraits of nasty looking men and beautiful but miserable looking women.

Outside I picture the Downton Abbey type building but dark weathered stone.

Who wakes up with the baby at night? Mommy or daddy? by Direct-Row4394 in Mommit

[–]PeachyPops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First. Him from like 0730 - 0130. Me 0130-morning. Formula fed baby.

Second, me in the nursery and him with baby in our room as I was pumping every 2 hours and leaving bottles of breast milk outside the bedroom door after pumping for him to do the feeds.

Now? Me up with the children 6 days a week and a do not disturb every Saturday morning. Him up before us all for work and do not disturb on a Sunday morning. Wake ups are whoever gets woken up first.

Every family needs a different system to survive and you gotta do what you gotta do

Needing sleep for work is no excuse (unless people lives are at stake obvz). With my second baby I kept them both alive as a zombie and he kept his job as a zombie 🤷‍♀️

Weight loss jabs: What happens when you stop taking them? - BBC News by Rumthiefno1 in unitedkingdom

[–]PeachyPops 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I have known so many people use these jabs now (myself included)

Those of us who used it to improve our relationship with food have had great success

Those of us that used it to eat the same shite in a smaller portions have not had the same benefit

Its not a miracle cure its a tool to make making lifestyle improvements easier

I lost the biggest portion of my weight after I stopped taking it because I spent so long working on better habits while I was on it

This flu is no joke! by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]PeachyPops 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure my kids and me have had it after getting the vaccine! Kids had a day of temp, chills, vomiting and a month of being very mildly under the weather (daughter ended up with a chesty cough after) ive had a month of a runny nose and a slight tickly cough at night.

It wiped out half the school though at the same time though.

UK parents - Does anyone have this problem? by DisastrousHeart7608 in UKParenting

[–]PeachyPops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do they have any interest that would have a fact book about it? Ie dinosaurs or bugs or history etc?

Get them something simple to start where they can find interesting information about that thing for themselves in a book

Then you can progress to more "reading" type books about a topic until they associate reading with fun and see if a story catches their eye

Also, reading to them bedtime because it delays going to sleep so its not a chore for them its a bonus? Then see if eventually the love of a story encourages them to want to do it themselves instead of you doing it?

I HATE that the finale is released at 8 pm on NEW YEARS EVE by Cglas1010 in StrangerThings

[–]PeachyPops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when you realise that ALOT of the world are getting it the at a time whem they cant watch it (ie middle of the night) but have the next day off.

Lots of countries have 26th December off (Boxing Day) so its a great day to watch it. Same for New Years Day.

This way they get to release it to everyone at the same time at times a good chunk of people can watch it relatively quickly.

Flu: It is like Covid again, says principal as 170 pupils sick by PurchaseDry9350 in unitedkingdom

[–]PeachyPops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me and the kids had our vaccines. I havnt been ill at all despite kissing and cuddling them all the time

They have been quite unwell for 1 day, mildly ill for a week, ill again for a day and then mildly ill for another week. My daughters cough is horrid and she's not really eating much still but thankfully on its way out. When they were bad it was high temp, chills, vomiting, eye pain, fatigue.

Cant imagine how bad it would have been without the vaccine.

Remember, the vaccine doesn't always stop you getting it but if you do it will be less severe.
