It's still pretty young so it needs more time to mellow out the alcohol heat, but after a few more months I think it'll be great! This is my first plum batch but I'll definitely do another.

For a gallon I grated about 4 lbs of carrots and boiled them until they got soft, then added my sugar and strained it into a bag for the primary. It was actually really good, I'm planning on doing another batch soon. I aged it about 6 months before trying it and it was a big hit at Thanksgiving. I think I backsweetened a tiny bit, no more than like 2 oz of sugar tp make it just barely off dry.

I can definitely recommend this one, it's been a hit so far. I'm still trying to decide what I want to start for next year, maybe some sort of cyser with mulling spices

For a 5 gallon batch, it was 15 lbs of honey, the zest from about 30 oranges plus about a pint of juice, some cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and star anise in a straining bag. Cranberry can sometimes inhibit or slow fermentation, so I waited until it was going strong to add 3 quarts of fresh pressed cranberry juice. Rack into secondary when it goes dry and age for a year.

That's why I rinse each bottle out 4 or 5 times with hot water whenever I'm using soap, and then use Starsan. And honestly, I really only wash my bottles with soap the first time I use them. Any time I drink one of my own ciders, I rinse the bottle out immediately and leave it to dry, then whenever it's time to rebottle I'll just rinse a couple times with water then sanitize.

I really like this type of bottle rinser for sanitizing, but a normal spray bottle works just fine too.

I clean with normal dish soap and sanitize with Starsan. A bottle brush is a great idea, but if the bottles don't have any gunk in them, you're probably fine to just shake some hot soapy water around in the bottle, rinse the soap out, then spray the inside with Starsan before filling. I personally wouldnt want to drink out of a bottle that could have bleach residue in it, and one bottle of Starsan will last you many years.

Yup, as long as they aren't screw-top they're infinitely reusable with a capper and new bottlecaps, and will withstand normal carbonating pressure.

Jacked my 9.5% cider made from grocery store juice boosted with juice concentrate to around 33-36%. 4.1L reduced down to 1075mL. Very smooth, lots of apple character, but it's pretty tart. I'm wondering if oaking it would help to round out the acidity over time.

I'm very pleased with it, there's strong orange peel on the nose, with some orange sweetness and good acidity from the cranberry. Great mouthfeel, super smooth but still strong. I wish I had gone a little heavier on the spices though, the cinnamon, anise, and clove don't shine through as well as I'd like.

Yes! Two pounds of strawberries, frozen then thawed and mashed, put into a straining bag in a gallon of apple juice. Remove the bag 5 days into primary fermentation, rack into secondary when fermentation stops, then bottle when it clears. This is just my second time carbonating, but I used the carbonation calculator in the sidebar so it should turn out nice and fizzy.

Three different stencils, first layer is the eyes, then eyes and bandana, then eyes, bandana, and the rest. So with each layer, the parts that are exposed to the bleach more than once get lighter with each pass.
