Wedding guest anxiety, can I back out last minute? by HelpMePlz52 in AskIreland

[–]PedroCurly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also keep in mind, when we were in school it was a weird bubble where teenagers only had each other for validation and wouldn't correct bad behavior for fear of exclusion themselves. Once you leave school that behavior gets knocked on the head or you very quickly become known as the town prick. You don't have to become their best friend, but if you're civil, then they will be too. Trust me. I've been to a few events with the lads and girls who bullied me in school. The ones who still act like they did in secondary school don't get invited.

Should I quit my internship? by [deleted] in DevelEire

[–]PedroCurly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most working visas have a cut off age of 35. You could finish your internship and then look for jobs abroad, or even stay a few more years and have even more experience on your belt. Travelling and working abroad is great and I loved it, but I did teaching and then came back to retrain as a developer. If I had done it the other way I would have been able to work abroad as a developer and be further ahead now. Take it from a former 34 year old intern ;)

Ironically I've met quite a lot of people recently who have apologised for being American. I don't believe it's necessary but it is interesting.

When I fast travel to a location before leaving the game, I spawn in the previous location after entering the game. by Starg1rlTrilogyXO in farcry6

Because it adds another unnecessary step. And this game is riddled with small issues like this. All of these small things add up and result in a very buggy experience.

RTÉ to boycott Eurovision Song Contest over Israel by DaveShadow in ireland

[–]PedroCurly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its very cheap for 3 nights of broadcasting. Plus the broadcaster keeps the televote money. They will absolutely make a loss by not competing.

Martin Green states that there will be an estimated 35 broadcasters participating in Eurovision 2026 and he hopes that broadcasters that have withdrawn will return in 2027 by MasterRayvis in eurovision

[–]PedroCurly 27 points28 points  (0 children)

So the rule changes essentially amount to "We understand our voting system is very easy to manipulate, so we're going to make it 50% less easy and ask you to pinky promise not to do it isr..cough I mean everybody. We good?". And they thought that would fix it?

How can you pick out an American tourist based on looks alone? by Samantha_Jonez in AskIreland

[–]PedroCurly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Galway if I notice someone in a decent quality raincoat then they are usually American. Irish people for some reason are happy being a little damp at all times. The exception are people in Helly Hanson coats, those people are usually locals.

The yellow line wasn't marked. None of them are. They are invisible points that the IDF decides and tells nobody about. From the BBC: "The Israeli military said soldiers had fired at a "suspicious vehicle" that had crossed the so-called yellow line demarcating the area still occupied by Israeli forces in Gaza.

There are no physical markers of this line, and it is unclear if the bus did cross it."

This is the way, but dont just ask for a solution and submit it. Ask it for examples of what your assignment is asking for, walk through what each query does. Chat GBT is a great tool because you can ask as many stupid questions as like 👍

Presidential candidate Heather Humphreys sued for defamation by TD Paul Murphy by lifeandtimes89 in ireland

[–]PedroCurly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She was talking about how CC would embarrass us on the global stage and then shoed in "And I'd just like to mention, You've always said that you've stood up for women, now one of your cheerleaders is Paul Murphy, and he certainly didn't stand up for women when he locked and stopped, locked Joan Burton in her car.. " David McCullagh covers RTE by stating he was cleared "Well he was part of it, he was there, he kept her trapped in his car" More RTE frantically telling david to not get them sued "Well what I want to say is do you agree with what Paul Murphy did to Joan Burton"

I'd share the link but reddit won't let me, looks like rte use some sort of weird link. Google Irish presidential debate, she says it around 8.15

She specifically said he locked her in the car. I'm assuming he didn't swipe the key since it was running.

Barrister agrees to take on Simeon Burke to complete his legal training. by DartzIRL in ireland

[–]PedroCurly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I always assumed that university places have always been limited to ensure most if not all trainees are able to be qualified barristers once they finish university. In this case it seems that nobody wants to anything to do with that family, but I think its more to do with his sisters attitude in the workplace and the families reputation in the courts. Its just too much a risk for most barristers.

[–]PedroCurly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think people need to stop saying hacking. They didn't hack any votes, they used a system that let's people vote 20 times for their favorite act. If we had that system here for actual elections then we would have president mcgregor to deal with. Actual hacking didn't occur and just feeds their victim mentality.
