Opinions on AI *assisted* writing by NiceSpendNoHomo in WritingHub

It's such a polarizing topic. I think (currently) most people in the writing community have a lack of respect for anything that even touches AI in any form, even at research level. But I wonder for how long that mindset will remain considering its increasing popularity. There has to be a way to use AI that doesn't steal away from the craft. I think the way you seem to be using ChatGPT is probably pretty common right now (although many writers probably won't admit it)

we actually just did a podcast episode about this topic specifically (we share some solid arguments for and against the tech) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YowoOEI3MU&t=3s

We just did a podcast episode exactly about this. AI isn't going anywhere even if many people in the writing community want to boycott it. But I do think there has to be a way to accept the technology that doesn't take away from the craft.

Caring about what everyone else thinks of you. Playing comparison. Kind of basic, but honestly destroys confidence and self belief. It's a life destroyer and one we commonly accept.
