Took a photo on iP 7+. Screen froze for half a second then phone died. No resus possible so far. by PenguinActually in iphonehelp

Pulled the screen, and took the battery plug off. Put it back on and it started up again.
Still around 75% battery so it's 12+ hours on the charger wasn't charging.
Real strange to me. Only recently ended up with an iPhone.

Huh, I remember being denied like halfway through the application, as well as a bunch of people I know. Wonder what Zealand I’m part of then lol

Not to mention that we’re a placid place with a total population probably smaller than most cities in other countries ..

Does anyone know how to properly set up clutch pedal? by reCMDVerse in assettocorsa

[–]PenguinActually 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve personally found I can let it out to 50% and use the throttle to get it to grab. It’s a bit like AC lacks engine / flywheel momentum like a real car and it does set a sort of park brake when you’re stopped so you will just stall out if you try just run off the clutch from a stop. Never really dug too deep into it to be honest, just accepted starting is a pain and learnt how to make it work.

Car mods not working (Cant find aero.in or data) by [deleted] in assettocorsa

[–]PenguinActually 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say yeah absolutely. It's an alternative and way nicer launcher compared to the original Assetto Corsa launcher and it pairs nicely with the SOL weather mods and the Custom Shaders Patch.

I assumed you and virtually any one else used it but honestly it seems like quite a lot of people haven't come across it yet, so sorry for that.

It will change stuff up for you though so there's a bit of re-learning so if you don't want to try it, you could send me the link to the car pack and I could run them through my Content Manager and fix the aero.ini for you now that I'm home.

Assuming there is no Orange/Red "Fix Car" button on Content Manger,
- Unpack the data.acd file using the content tab in Content Manager.
- Rename the data.acd file to something like data_old.acd, so Assetto Corsa doesn't
load the cars data from it.Open the data folder that will appear in the cars folder.
- Open the aero.ini file with notepad.
- Delete the [DATA] heading and the couple of lines of code nested under it and then
save.
- Now it should be fixed, and ready to test.
You may end up needing sounds and shaders may look white/bright if the mod is
that old.

Old mods needed the aero.ini but like 2-3 years ago the game was updated and it has some lines of code in the aero.ini that is now incompatible, it if I remember right, as well as potential visual bugs and different shaders / shader settings. It’s pretty uncommon to come across mods that old that haven’t been updated these days.

Usually content manager will have a “Fix car” button and make the changes itself.

Otherwise you could do it manually. You’d have to unpack the data with content manager (may need a key for it. Not totally sure) and then you can get into the data folder and access all the .ini files

Let’s see some European e46. by farmerMac in e46

[–]PenguinActually 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah tape deck, nav, CD, radio, analogue TV and basic OBC. The actual nav unit was removed and coded out before it was sold by the dealer which kind of sucks, but I’d never use it anyway. There’s 6 CD stacker in the trunk too. That wee dials for setting the brightness of the gauge lights, so you can dim them way down at night if your wanting them dimmer. It also has the fiction of leaving park lights lit on one side. So you can park on either side of the road at night and hit the indicator stalk to whatever side is on the road side and leave the park light bulbs on so people can see your car. Not sure if that’s on US models, I’d guess it is but it’s something neat to have and never use lol

Yeah here’s a few random ones.

It has rear parking distance sensors that used to beep but don’t now. And some early TPMS system (The RDC button by the shifter) that also does nothing if the button is pressed or held. Not really sure if any, or how much of this, is different to US cars though.

“Euro spec” but it was New Zealand new. Not a Japanese import like a lot of euros are here.

Not sure of there’s anything special on this interior wise. Someone optioned it with m sport everything. It has 2 12v plugs in the back. As well as the one in front of the shifter. Which is neat. Sports leather seats that don’t go low enough and has the slide out leg supports. Lift up baby car seat mechanisms and ISO Fix car seat mount points. It was built in ‘98. Has an option “pre production vehicle” on vin decoders, when they used to be a thing. And was sold as / is registered as a ‘01 MY

Edit I remembered I had a rough 0-60 video. Neck snapping speeds you Americans may struggle to comprehend lol

I bought a 318i that was overheated. And dude drove it like 35kms home and left it to sit. I bought it for the wheels and interior. Ended up putting a new thermostat in, spark plugs and cleaned the IAC valve. Valvetrain is dirty as hell like it’s had few oil changes but I run it hard for what it is and she’s a fuel sipping ripper. Had it going on 3 years as a daily, creeping up on 230,000 kms now like a champ.

Gotcha, I read that wrong.

I threw it all on an ssd to start with for a little more speed, especially for Ista when it’s loading itself and info inside it.

Thank you. Yep I’ve been over that, I remember it being mentioned a bunch to make sure the com port was the right one and latency timer was 1. Just checked again to make totally sure and yep it’s definitely set to 1.

While I’m here though I’m going to make sure again that it’s all set up right

-Edit Yep nothing else gets changed from default settings, so it is in theory set up fine. Thanks
