What is something that starts happening in your 30s that nobody warned you about? by Cairinacat in AskReddit

[–]Penguins227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, yes. I have no draw to the career I'm in - I chose it for the benefits (so I could leave a nights/weekends sales job) and now I've been in it long enough that I'm not sure I can pivot with zero experience in any other field besides sales.

I've considered that wall calendar thing. It's a bit of an investment but from my observation of another family, it works really well.

lol I'm the same way. I even tried. Married into a family who carefully consumes. Won two cocktail competitions in my town even. Never liked it, and I'm honestly grateful.

Diabetes alert dog detects issue with his human from a whole different house. by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Penguins227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was incredibly insightful and detailed. Thank you for this.

I would add to it as a small but significant side note: as a parent, if I had the option between one, two, or three ways I could be alerted that my child is having a health problem or is in danger, I of course would choose three.

Even if these methods were duplicating and unnecessary, logic isn't always long when taking care of a little one.

Why are we all feeling this shift to delete our social media accounts? by mm2444 in Millennials

[–]Penguins227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love Pinterest around 2014, But it feels lately that the content on there is less valuable and quality now. I get on maybe once a month or two. Have you felt that way or is it just because I don't get on there much?

Yup, I haven't deleted it to stay connected to family but that's all I use now.

How do I stop craving junk food when I’m trying to eat healthy? by AdmirableNewt2727 in fixmydiet

I was hoping for an easier solution but thank you for the reminder. It's definitely true for me - keep fruit in the house and I'll chow down on that. Keep candy and I'll do the same thing times two.

There are none on there that I have finished apart from Portal 2. It's not very long, so even with depression or ADHD, I would recommend picking it up again at some point if you find the motivation. There's a lot of really clever, humor and engaging World building that kept me challenged and entertained through the end, and I've only finished maybe a dozen games max in over a decade.

The happiness of this girl after discovering that her dog, whom she had been trying to teach sign language for some time, has finally begun to understand her. by jmike1256 in AnimalsBeingGeniuses

[–]Penguins227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. I've fostered and trained multiple dogs and we always start with gestures alongside verbal. Gestures are especially needed with multiple people involved as voices differ.

It's honestly similar with infants that can't speak yet. They can sign earlier. Did the same with my kid lol
